We stayed in the Gray Whale suite this past weekend while in town for a wedding. First time to Jenner and the Jenner Inn. All we can say is that the suite was perfect. Stunning view. The balcony is worth it on its own. The suite itself has a quaint, rustic feel yet a clean, updated look. Because it's a little up the road from the main lodge, you really feel like you're away from everything, in a good way. The staff, as well, were incredibly friendly and responsive. From check-in and the cute breakfast box they provided us for the morning, to addressing any needs we had, the hospitality was felt. We also loved the little coffee shop across the street, which had the perfect outdoor patio overlooking the water to sit and enjoy our lattes and some really good fresh scones! Was pretty ideal. Overall, a wonderful stay. The suite we had would be perfect for a romantic weekend away or just some needed solitude and is def the one we'd stay in again. Our family also had The Boat House suite next door, which they really liked as well. Although just a tad smaller, it had an equally great balcony overlooking the water and the same feel.

I believe the current Yelp rating of 3.5 is accurate, although I personally would give it a 4. I was captivated by Jenner as a destination, it offers a stunning coastal location with beautiful walks at the Headland Preserve and multiple dog-friendly beaches. The Aquatica Cafe is also charming. We stayed one night at the Inn and enjoyed our experience, although we found it to be slightly expensive. The rooms had character, albeit a bit eccentric. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were friendly. We were grateful for their accommodation of our dogs.

I stayed in the kayakers room, which was decent. The rug could have been cleaner, but overall it's a nice place. The location is ideal for our needs. Breakfast is provided the night before and includes a muffin, apple, yogurt, and coffee. In the room, there is a mini fridge with cream and sugar for your coffee.

The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. As a newcomer to using an Electric vehicle, I was concerned about charging it. The staff went above and beyond by offering me a parking spot where I could plug in my charger overnight at no extra charge. The check-in process was smooth, though I was surprised by the old style key for the room, even though there was a numeric keypad for locking and unlocking. The room itself had a nice layout with two queen beds and was clean. We were able to park our car right outside the room, and I can only imagine the beautiful sunset view outside the windows. Unfortunately, we were attending an event down the street and missed out on that view. I would definitely consider staying longer at this place the next time we have the chance.

This much beloved inn from another era is finally undergoing some needed upgrades since being purchased by new owners. Our cottage looks out on the confluence of the Russian River and Pacific Ocean. Remote but wonderful. We have funky furniture in a huge room with a bath that will need some refreshing but certainly fine as is. There are two nearby places to eat with one closed two days during the week so your best bet for evening dining is 8+ miles south to bodega bay where there are many good places to eat. Boxed continental breakfast provided each day; easy parking along the Coast Highway, charming small outdoor garden perfect for an evening glass of wine and the usual refrigerator, sink microwave and coffee pot make this Inn a winner for those looking for a quick get away with peace and quiet and beaches and hiking not far away.
