We enjoyed our dinner at Jefferson on the Lake. The view was magnificent and the food was very good. I have 3 issues, however. Our food might have been sitting awhile because it was lukewarm. A glass of wine in this area should not be $14. That’s a NYC price. We are used to paying $8-10 in this area and we eat out just about every Saturday night in different places. Lastly, please expand the dessert menu. There were... View all feedback.
What Bertram Reinger doesn't like about Jefferson On The Lake:
We arrived for a birthday brunch at 12 and and were told that the chef called in sick and they had no chef! The management had called for a replacement but he was coming from the Bronx and wouldn't be there for another one and one half hours. We couldn't wait and neither could the dozen other diners in the parking lot. We all had reservations but no one called us to cancel. It was very disappointing . This is no way... View all feedback.

Lovely setting by the lake, service was very attentive, both meals were very tasty. Will definitely return to this restaurant.

Lastly, please expand the dessert menu. There were only 3 items and not one chocolate item or ice cream. Maybe consider offering Tartufo, or anything chocolate. That being said, we will return as everyone liked their dinner and really enjoyed the view!
I strongly recommend this brand new restaurant . Food preparation was outstanding , beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Pear Gorgonzola salad with pine nuts was great to share for two. The sausage soup was outstanding try it!! . And our Veal Parmigiana entree was prepared perfectly along with Al dente Penne in ‘just the right taste ‘ marinara sauce. We’ve got to talk this restaurant up with our Jefferson Valley Yorktown neighbors. It’s a large venue , unlike anything nearby. Don’t want to lose this gem.
Upon our arrival the host did not have our reservation that we made through Open Table but since there was only one table occupied on a Saturday night we were seated promptly. The waiter didn’t have a clue as to any of the items on the menu and had difficulty getting our simple order correct . Other than the Burrata and Prosciutto appetizer, each of our parties entrees were tasteless and of poor quality. The portions were small and the only starch included was stale bread. The setting became very loud due to a large gathering at the bar which is in the same room as the restaurant tables. The waiter never asked us how our food was and basically just left us after clearing our plates without offering coffee or dessert. We had to track the waiter down for the check which was a lot more than expected especially considering the quality and quantity of the food and drink that we had ordered. We wanted to try this new restaurant with the hopes of it being a good experience and a successful new restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, due to our experience we will not be returning.
