Very nice quiet restaurant. Servers were extremely nice and everyone seemed to take pride in their job from the hostess to the waitress to the cook. The burritos were very delicious and the sweet tea wasn't extremely sweet but still southern sweet tea. I travel through Jefferson City fairly often and will definitely be stopping again. Basically was ignored by wait staff after we were seated, and when drinks finally arrived, they were wrong. The food was mediocre at best, And it looked as though the cook had failed to drain the grease off of the ground beef in my burrito. Service is fast, and the nachos are warm and crispy. I'm a huge fan of the Chili Verde. The pork is tender and the green chili sauce has a lot of flavor with just the right amount of heat (for me).
The queso and chips were great. The service was great. The food was horrible. This is not Mexican food. Do better.
Good food, great portions, if you leave hungry, it's on you. El Espolon is a great place to get good Mexican food. Fresh hot tostadas, good sauces, some items may be substituted according to preferences, great service, and atmosphere make it an enjoyable experience. They have parking in front or in the rear of the establishment for those visiting, if the front lot is full, swing around to the rear entrance in Gerbes' parking lot. High chairs and booster seats are available, and there's plenty of seating. Beware, on Mexican holidays like Cinco de Mayo, they get VERY busy and the place will be packed to the gills. They do have a bar with beer and believe wine selections, and serve margaritas, of course. They also have entrees for large and small appetites, a good lunch menu, and friendly servers. They have always taken good care of us! Ony last visit, they were still on-point, the chilé relleno was delicious, the beef taco loaded, and very filling, with rice and beans, I got filled up, and set a bit to enjoy the atmosphere, and let my food digest a bit, before I headed out. Definitely an advantage during the quiet part of the day!
I always have a good time here. Joe has become a good friend of the family and always gives fast friendly service the food is great and the drinks are too.
Food and service were both great! Went with a friend and loved the fajitas I got. Salsa was delicious and so was the margarita I got. Our server was nice and I would definitely recommend coming here!
