Contribute FeedbackEvil Dave's is a restaurant with a mixed reputation. Some diners found the meals to be average, with small portions for adults and large portions for kids. The menu also lacks variety and is considered pricey for what you get. Others, however, enjoyed appetizers like Beautiful Brie and Cowboy Sushi, as well as drinks for both adults and kids. The Typhoon noodles received mixed reviews, with some finding them overly saucy and others praising their freshness. Despite the inconsistency in food quality, the atmosphere and service received positive feedback. Some loyal customers are disappointed with the decline in food quality since the restaurant relocated, while others appreciate the new location and continue to have positive dining experiences there. With a cozy and modern ambiance, Evil Dave's is recommended for those looking for a relaxed dining experience in Jasper.
Recommended by the person on the front desk of our hotel, it was a little more costly than we expected, but the food was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and took good care of us! The menu item we ordered was supposed to have shrimp unless;you asked for chicken instead, so when it arrived only with chicken, we asked, where was the shrimp? The waiter immediately brought this to the attention of his boss. They took $5 off our bill and gave us a substantial portion of shrimp (aka "prawns," in this locale), with an apology for the confusing menu description, which our waiter explained was the reverse of what it should have stated. Overall, we really enjoyed eating there, and appreciated that it is located off the "main drag," with most people looking like locals rather than tourists..
I can't actually believe what I'm reading. Although the front of the house staff were nice and prompt, the meal was one of the worst I've ever had To start, the kitchen staff are overloaded. They cant keep up.Now the food... Let's see... The falafel...a falafel is a middle eastern spiced bean fritter, not a fried red pasty bean cake died red.... That's not falafel. How can anyone call that a falafel. When I want falafel , I should get falafel . That's not it Dave!!!..the crazy noodle is a few packs of pot noodle with hoisin sauce . my daughter liked it, but her appetite is better than her palette. My wife also had it. She paid more than twice the price of the kids portion for a couple of over cooked rubberized shrimp with mostly over cooked celery. So overpowered by celery the smell as almost made me fall over. The price is very high...over a hundred bucks Not worth the price. Sharpen your pencil Dave... This is kids stuff....
Evil Dave's definitely has an upscale feeling. It is beautifully decorated & we felt we should have made more effort with our attire. The food was delicious and I can highly recommend the lollipop shrimp, meatloaf and blackened salmon. The attention to detail on each dish was outstanding. The only reason for not giving a full star rating was that the portion sizes were not over generous and when the food is this good you definitely want more. My desert of apple pudding was especially small, served in a little jar and whilst my husband and son enjoyed it, I thought it didn't have much flavour. It seemed at odds with the first 2 courses which were outstanding. I would definitely eat here again given the opportunity and would recommend booking a table in advance.
We'd seen the reviews in our travel guide so were really keen to eat here. We weren't disappointed!! Starters were substantial and delicious. Three of us us ordered the meatloaf for mains and it was all it was supposed to be. My daughter ordered the noodles. Wasn't sure she'd manage them all but they were so tasty she did! Sadly we were too full up to try the desserts. Service was attentive and I have to mention the Evil Caesar cocktail. Really, really tasty! We would definitely return.
This restaurant is both unique and enjoyable. The food was second to none, using local ingredients and unusual fare. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and could suggest pairings and selections from every facet of the menu.
