What Anonym dislikes about Spice Box:
The experience was decent for a single visit, but I wouldn't return. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night, which was a concerning sign. The food was average—my home-cooked curries are on par with what they served, and nothing stood out. The portion sizes were small, and I found the dishes and drinks to be overpriced. They only had two types of alcoholic beer and were out of both, leaving limited options. The... View all feedback.

The food from here is absolutely delicious but since they’ve taken themselves off Uber Eats, their minimum online order is £37.50! I live on my own so I’m never going to spend that. I really miss the food and just find it such a weird decision.
Service was nice but unfortunately food wasn 't up to it. A bit different to other Indian places but not in a way which elevated the food. Don 't get the Chick 'n no problem with meat replacements as a concept but unfortunately this added nothing Probably would have given 3 stars but the price was really high for vegan food: £70 for two people with one drink. Jai Krishna offers similar sized helpings, as tasty for half the price.
Great menu — perfect for a ‘tapas’ meal to try the different street food options. Slight shame that the little sundries (chutneys, pickles, etc. were separate and extra rather than part of the poppadum appetiser as you’d normally expect. Loved the decor post-refurb: fresh yet cosy!
Loved the vibe, ambience and the staff was super friendly. I wouldn't recommend for like a big family get together maybe for 3 4ppl max. Like friends meet up/date for two kinda vibe. Other than the kheema and the jackfruit vindaloo, others were absolutely wonderful! (Madras, Tikka, Korma, Pani Puri etc etc). Slightly on the pricey side, but then again most Vegan restaurants nowadays are. Go with an open mind, and you'll like it.

Excellent vegan food not your typical curry house I had the Full Indian which had a Spicy jackfruit beans, crispy Bombay hash, Symplicity sausage, Indian guac, pickled pink onions, date and tamarind chutney, roasted portobello mushroom, toasted sourdough. Other members of our group tried other equally Interesting and curious spin off of traditional dishes service was good.
Fantastic friendly service, amazinly ingenious delicious food! the loaded bhajis were unreal, best garlauch naan we ever had, mushroom madras so tasteful, loved every mouthful! many thanks. wonderful experience round. deffo value travel by newcastle for
The food was good. not knock but nice. I am not vegan, but often have vegetarian curries / vegan curries. the dansak with chick’n was good and the appetizers we had were all very nice, especially the loaded bhaji. the jackfuit curry was unfortunately a bit blissful and it was really quite expensive. £70 for 2 with 1 drink each and not a large amount of food. I would probably recommend how to try somewhere else, but not somewhere I will go back
This is a lovely little vegan Indian restaurant. It has a beautiful atmosphere, fantastic aromas, and great service.
The wine was served in a cup, which raises the question: what kind of restaurant doesn’t use wine glasses? While the service was good, I had to ask for a glass for the beer; did they expect me to drink from a can? Overall, it felt very lackluster, and I wouldn't choose to dine there again.
