Coffee Deli - Janesville
Coffee Deli
Description
Nestled conveniently for local diners, this Co-Op offers a clean, friendly atmosphere with a variety of organic and gluten-free items. While the in-house café features impressive packaged vegan options, navigating vegan selections can be challenging amid the extensive organic offerings. Patrons rave about the freshly made dishes, including delectable breakfast paninis and a diverse grab-and-go deli. Enthusiastic reviews highlight the delightful vegan muffins and multiple non-dairy milk choices, though some found prices on the higher side, especially for non-members. Overall, this spot is perfect for a quick, healthy meal, though it might not solely cater to vegan diets.
Feedback
The staff is incredibly friendly, and I was very pleased with my Awesome Chicken Salad! I also picked up some cookies, and I highly recommend the Breakfast Cookie—it’s delicious! There's a fantastic variety in their grab-and-go deli and bakery section. My friend was thrilled to see so many gluten-free options available. We will definitely be back!
I’m writing a review as a vegan. Although I haven't tried any food from this place yet, I'm absolutely thrilled that they sell vegan muffins! It’s been such a long time since I’ve had a baked good, and I don’t often make my own, so it’s wonderful to be able to pop in and grab a muffin. They also offer a variety of coffees; I had a plain latte made with almond milk, and it was quite good. I appreciate that they provide several non-dairy milk options beyond just the usual soy, which I try to avoid when possible. However, I did find their sizing a bit confusing and ended up being charged extra because I wasn’t informed about it. Now, I mainly stick to their teas. Overall, I really love this place. The staff is super friendly, and they have a stamp card, so after a certain number of orders, you can get one for free.
The staff were fantastic. They made us 2 delicious breakfast paninis that were vegan and gluten-free. The coffee was also excellent. However, for non-members, the prices for the food were on the expensive side.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year now, and I have found that sticking to the basics is always the best option. Despite the limited vegan options available at the in-house deli, I have not had any trouble finding all the food I need as a vegan.
I decided to try this Co-Op because it is closer to home than the one we enjoyed in Madison. Their packaged vegan items from the in-house café were fantastic - fresh, delicious, and well-labeled. However, the abundance of organic and gluten-free options made it a bit difficult to navigate for vegan choices. They also had a lot of organic milk and meat available, which may not appeal to some customers. While some items were a good value compared to our local grocery stores, others were on the pricier side. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here, but I would stop in for a quick meal if I was in the area.
