Picanteria La Lucila - Jacobo Hunter

La Lucila restaurant. It was there before 2017. Everything was very pleasant. This time in August 2018. We were so disappointed with the service. It took 45 minutes to get our food. When we got our food, the meat was undercooked raw. The rocoto relleno had no taste. After this visit we will not come back.

Excellent Escribano (potatoes, fresh tomatoes, fresh rocoto). Potatoes are boiled and added at room temperature and they cut fresh tomatoes, a little rocoto, oil, vinegar and salt and you get to chop how much tomatoes and spicy rocoto pepper you want. This is a dish to share as an appetizer or if you are a vegetarian, just keep it for yourself! Excellent rocoto relleno but you sure that you like it spicy because it comes! Good service, this is an out-of-the-way place, but if you have the time to leave the city for the afternoon, highly recommended.

I'm a nice guy, so I like to write positive reviews. I really try to find something positive about every place I evaluate. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we tried yesterday. I wish we hadn't! The only thing I can think is that they have beautiful, clean fabric tablecloths. We came to the restaurant shortly after the opening, so it wasn't crowded. The plaque at the door, which was told by the founder of the restaurant, made us hopeful. Our arrival was highlighted by an encounter with a drunk male employee. Seriously. He wasn't just a little drunk, but drunk. After he tried to take our order, another (apparently sober) employee came by and finished our order. About half an hour after our arrival came our food. Most Peruvian dishes are very tasteful, but this food was not. Chicharron was cooked hard. Honestly, nothing tastes good. We share an appetizer and a combination plate. There was more than enough for us, because after a few bites we didn't want to eat the rest. Based on our research, maybe we thought we were too critical or something. At least there was soap in the toilet. There are many restaurants in or near the center of Arequipa, so I can't have a good reason to waste your time and money here. I wouldn't return for anything.

Interminable la espera, mucho tiempo de preparacion, hubo hasta 30 minutos de espera entre platillos. Antiguamente era un baluarte de la comida Arequipeña, hoy la comida ha perdido su sabor. Fui con mucha ilusion, pues en mis viajes a Arequipa por una u otra cosa no podia ir, esta vez tenia que acudir, el primer plato me decepciono totalmente, la Ocopa, sencillamente no tenia sabor, no le sentiamos el rico sabor que deberia tener, sera por eso que al resto de la comida le encontramos algunos inconvenientes. Rescatable el rocoto relleno y su pastel de papa que si estaba delicioso, aunque un poco secoIncreible que no vendan Kola Escocesa, que es la gaseosa tipica de arequipa
