a trip to jax is incomplete without stopping at the metro diner. this location is the original and while it can be revitalized and loud, the food supplies to a great wise. our server (alex) was above all, even if it seemed, they sat all the tables in their section at once. (remember the lack of Radish?s) View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Metro Diner:
This is quaint little spot. We picked this restaurant because if DDD. The service was awesome. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was very homey. I recommend the pancakes. The chicken and waffles was a little dry but seasoned well. They were out of crab cakes and spicy sauce for chicken. I wish google would let me give them a 3.5. View all feedback.
This restaurant in Jacksonville is one of the best places to eat. They are open for breakfast and lunch from 7am to 2pm. The food is amazing and I first heard about it from my co-workers, and then saw it featured on Guy's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The restaurant is small with booths and a few tables in the middle, so be prepared to wait. Even arriving before 11am, we still had to wait about 15-20 minutes, but it was worth it. The prices are reasonable but portions are large, so come hungry. I shared a meal with my 3-year-old and still had plenty to take home in a leftover box. The Pittsburgh salad and meatloaf are the standouts. The salad comes with fries and blue cheese crumbles, which shows how delicious it is. I'm not a huge meatloaf fan, but this one was moist with a nice crunch. The red mashed potatoes and warm French bread served with it were also fantastic. If they served dinner, I would definitely wait in line to go back. For comfort food, the Metro Diner is the place to go. I can't wait to try their breakfast and ask about the daily specials.

Shannon at metro diner is a rockstar. shannon is so pleasant and friendly. she made it fantastic and she did it with a smile on her face. Thanks again, shannon, we cannot wait to see you again in the metro!
Our server hannah was a shady beautiful recommendation to add the earthy butter in the Croissant-French toast. that was just eating.
The best breakfast you can get is not with grandmothers. Friendly staff, delicious food. Portions are huge. We stop any chance we get here.
