I was looking for a place on the water, and found Hightide. While they are near a marina, there isn?t much of a view of the water. However, I like the low-key vibe here. They had live entertainment on Sunday afternoon, and I did see a few people couldbring their dogs if you?re into that. The tacos were good, and the service was also. Ton of parking. What Ki Brooks doesn't like about Hightide Burrito:
Sat at the bar and the bartender was nice. She offered me chips and salsa but never returned with them. She was easy to speak with. i ordered the El Jefe as a burrito with the ranch sauce instead of the horseradish. It was very good, just needed a tad more flavor on the rice. Maybe just some salt. The pineapple cider is now my new fave drink! View all feedback.
Had the Ultimate burrito to take out. Reminded me of Qdoba. Carnitas was good. Chips didn’t look greasy until you rewarm them. Red salsa appears to be made with roasted tomatos thick vs a runny salsa. Found green salsa to be limey but seemed to compliment the food. You only get half as much of it compared to the red salsa. Could use it for the amount of food. Found all to be OK on first try due to promotional. As for the help from previous reviews, appears hospitality manning still an issue post-COVID.Parking: Some parking available. I wouldn’t say plenty but adequate for when we stopped by on a Sunday late afternoon.
The food was kinda disappointing, and the service was terrible. We waited over an hour and a half for food and there was only three to four tables sat both inside and outside. We had to ask for refills multiple times since the waitress was pretty much hiding and playing on her phone in the kitchen all day.
Cool atmosphere but that's about it. Eaten here twice now and the food was subpar both times. No flavor. Just meh. Had to put salt on everything . Service is also meh. Even the drinks were meh.
?HIDDEN GEM ALERT? I devoured my carnitas tacos before I took a picture ? however! The lunch special was pretty fantastic. Two tacos with rice and beans for $10. I got one taco as soft and one corn. I LOVED the way they heated their corn shells.. I'm always skeptical when ordering corn tortillas because sometimes places just warm them up and then they fall apart when you fold them in half and everything gets everywhere and now you have a salad.. but these ones were perfect! I'm not sure how they did it, but they had the texture of being SLIGHTLY fried to get a crisp, but not long enough to break when bending!! Perfect! The location was on the water with out door seating.. and FURRY PETS are welcomed on the porch!! It's the little things sometimes
Great food probably the best Mexican we have had in Jax our waitress scarlet was great and attentive. Will definitely be back.
