In the vibrant dining scene of Jackson, The Virginian stands out for its cozy ambiance and delicious home-style meals. Guests rave about the fluffy biscuits drenched in savory gravy, delectable omelets, and unique offerings like massive cinnamon rolls. Enthusiastic service complements the meal, with staff often greeted warmly by patrons, enhancing the overall experience. Despite occasional waits due to popularity, the charm of the restaurant keeps visitors coming back. However, some recent interactions with management have raised concerns over customer service, casting a shadow on what many hope will remain a beloved culinary cornerstone. For a satisfying meal, the Virginian is definitely worth considering.
They consistently get breakfast right, without fail. There's a reason you often have to wait for a table in the morning. The Virginian stands out as one of the top breakfast places in...
I usually reserve 5-star ratings for fine dining places or those that offer impeccable quality and taste. However, the Virginian surpassed all expectations in every aspect...
I wish I could give this absolutely amazing restaurant a SIXTH star! The food was delicious, featuring perfectly fluffy biscuits smothered in savory white gravy, along with a side of...
The food was bland and lacked seasoning. No one came by to refill our drinks. The pancakes had an eggy flavor, but on the plus side, they were enormous and thick—you really only need one. However, be prepared to pay a premium for such tasteless food. Overall, I was very disappointed and won't be returning!
The next morning, Saturday, I returned with my newlywed daughter and her in-laws for breakfast. Again, the same woman was at the front. I requested a table for eight, but she claimed there was no space. When I suggested combining two tables, she firmly said no and insisted I get back in line. I explained that we already had four people seated and asked if she could arrange a table for eight. She began to yell at me that she had already said no. At this point, I reminded her of how Kelly, the former owner who had tragically died in a skydiving accident last winter, treated customers with kindness. Kelly always greeted everyone with a smile and happily accommodated requests. I truly miss him. A simple request for a table for eight turned into a significant issue. The woman called the manager, who never heard my side of the story, and ended up kicking me out of the restaurant, causing my daughter and her husband to leave as well, which created a very awkward situation for all of us, especially since the other family had already ordered breakfast. Please, I urge you not to go to this restaurant if you value good service and respect. The way we were treated was disheartening, and the food was subpar—cold and tasting overly greasy, a far cry from what it used to be under Kelly’s watch. We ended up at Bubba’s instead, where the staff was friendly, especially a waitress named Stacey, and the food and service were excellent. There are many places in town, such as Cowboy Coffee, Persephone, and Café Genevieve, that treat customers well and provide great service. Do yourself a favor and try those instead. Thank you for considering my experience.
