Veritas offers a lively atmosphere and attentive service, yet many guests report inconsistencies in wait times and food quality. While friendly staff work hard amidst heavy reservations, delays in drink and food service can stretch dinner experiences longer than expected. Patrons enjoy standout dishes like the smoked chicken tortellini, but some find the menu limiting and salty options unappealing. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant remains a beloved spot in downtown Jackson, with a strong following eager for summer evenings and special occasions. Overall, while improvements are necessary, Veritas still captures hearts with its charm.

Was Anonym at Veritas a mag?
My partner and I celebrated my birthday at Veritas and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waiter, Malik, was fantastic—attentive and engaging. The rest of the staff were just as friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The live music added a wonderful touch, creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. It was a truly memorable evening, and we look forward to visiting again so... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Veritas:
Extremely disappointing. Food was average at best. We ordered or requested 4 or 5 different items to find out they were out!! One was a dressing for the ginger carrot salad they are known for! Ordered two deserts- they were out! No tarter sauce for the fish! I consider ourselves as regulars but no longer. The Pot de Crème for dessert was a disaster, very grainy and too much whipped cream. Good dinner. it still has to work on service. we have 20 minutes for our cocktails at our table, and 45 for eating. slowly. would eat here again. but expect only slow service.

Seems like the quality and service is slipping rapidly! So sorry to see this. Was once one of the top restaurants in the area. Not sure this is still the case.
I felt bad for our server, too many tables booked for staff on hand. Seated 20 minutes after reservation time, waited 30 minutes for drinks, another 35-40 for appetizer and again to place meal order. There for over 3 hours just for dinner when should’ve been 1/2 that. Food was okay, staff was friendly and doing their absolute best given situation they were put in….but overall disappointed in our New Years dinner experience….
What a joke this restaurant has been closed since before Christmas 2024. I made this reservation thru open table. It was our 61st wedding anniversary. Total night ruined. You should have known this restaurant was closed. you continued sending notices to confirm reservations. This was right up until an hour before our arrival. I will never trust open table again. There is no way to talk to anyone or try to fix a ruined evening. A restaurant closed for over 6 months and you don’t know it. What a joke!!
We had a reservation at 6:15pm on NYE. We arrived at 6:10pm and waited at the hostess table for at least 10 minutes for someone to check us in. The restaurant staff appeared to be completely overwhelmed and under staffed. While waiting for over 30 minutes to be seated, we saw two different tables get up and leave because no one had come to their table. We decided to leave after that. We may try again on a normal weekday night.
