When I was young, I loved their grilled cheese, but now I prefer the... read more I have been a patron of Scrooge's for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed it. When I was young, I loved their grilled cheese, but now I prefer their red beans and rice, gumbo, and fried chicken. The pork tenderloin medallions are also exceptional when available. I appreciate that the bar walls were moved with the restaurant when it relocated to Ridgewood, making the atmosphere feel the same as the old location, minus the treacherous spiral staircase. The restaurant reminds me of the old sunroom, although more stable. My wife and I even had our wedding reception here, and it was fantastic. I am pleased with how well the new owners have maintained the place after Maggie sold it. Chris Jefferson has been a part of the team since the reopening, and Chris Carter for about 8 years. It's wonderful to see longtime employees now owners, ensuring that one of Jackson's longstanding restaurants and bars continue to thrive.

U can never go wrong with the Sweet Potato Casserole, along with any of the other veggie choices. Scrooges is just a great place to meet friends and have a meal!!
