Reviews - Scrooge's
Reviews summary
Scrooge's, a beloved neighborhood bar and diner, evokes a sense of nostalgia with its homey ambiance and Southern cuisine. Diners rave about the authentic flavors, particularly the red beans and rice, red snapper, and fried offerings, though some lament inconsistencies in taste and execution. While the atmosphere can feel cramped and the service varies from personable to inattentive, many appreciate the friendly staff who engage warmly with patrons. Despite mixed reviews about certain dishes, the establishment remains popular among locals, making it a casual spot for hearty meals and enjoyable conversations over sports on TV.
Was MPeck at Scrooge's a mag?
Shane was our server- great service, super friendly, and the food was great! I was drinking Guinness and eating the fried pickles Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 View all feedback.
What Cheyenne Mills dislikes about Scrooge's:
I won't be back! I believe it was the owner, an older white gentleman sat there staring at me the entire time I waited for my order. This place gives me terrible vibes. If I can be honest racial discriminatory vibes. The floors were sticky and gross. It's pathetic and the food isn't that good. People of color beware. View all feedback.

Went here almost a full week ago and have thought about it since. The food was DELICOUS! I could eat the lemon spinach forever it's so good! Our server was awesome I believe her name was Aspen. I plan to bring my family sometime so they can all try it : Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Tonight was our first time visiting and we were very impressed. The place had a nice vibe and a slightly older crowd. The staff as very friendly and attentive. We ordered a lot of food bc we wanted to try several things. lol. We started with the fried pickles and a cup of gumbo..both very fabulous! My husband then ordered the red beans and rice with cheese and extra sausage. He liked it and said it was in his top 3-4 (he’s a red brand and rice expert). I tried one of the nightly specials which was as a New York strip with a twice baked potato and salad. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The potato was also good but could’ve used a little bacon. I’m picky about steaks so I started with the New York strip but it was so flavorable now I have to try the filet.

After our softball tournament, we stopped by and sat in the bar area. Chris provided excellent and friendly service, and the food was delicious. I ordered the shrimp po' boy and fried jalapenos - they were both delicious!
The atmosphere and the food were wonderful. Service was gracious and frequent without becoming annoying. I got the steak with baked potato and spinach. It was cooked perfectly to order and were very tasty. Can't wait to go back again.
I have been a patron of Scrooge's for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed it. When I was young, I loved their grilled cheese, but now I prefer their red beans and rice, gumbo, and fried chicken. The pork tenderloin medallions are also exceptional when available. I appreciate that the bar walls were moved with the restaurant when it relocated to Ridgewood, making the atmosphere feel the same as the old location, minus the treacherous spiral staircase. The restaurant reminds me of the old sunroom, although more stable. My wife and I even had our wedding reception here, and it was fantastic. I am pleased with how well the new owners have maintained the place after Maggie sold it. Chris Jefferson has been a part of the team since the reopening, and Chris Carter for about 8 years. It's wonderful to see longtime employees now owners, ensuring that one of Jackson's longstanding restaurants and bars continue to thrive.
I had the Beef Brisket, it was delicious. Dave had my all time favorite, Pork Tenderloin Medallions, if only I could make them that good at home!! U can never go wrong with the Sweet Potato Casserole, along with any of the other veggie choices. Scrooges is just a great place to meet friends and have a meal!!

Two thumbs. Always enjoy my time at Skroogen. Yelp makes me type 37 more characters, lol
Baked green tomatoes were great. The reuben was very delicious and the horned beef was cut thick and you could taste it, but it was too wet with...
At the arrival and the entry I found a server called abbey who did her best to pick up the already rich amount and told me and my lady that she would sit us quickly. she spoke to us and let us hear that she made us quite fast and then entered and then introduced us to the bartender who is randomly called harmonie, and she gave us rehearsals from the bar when I saw a dog in a strange land from the bar area in the restaurant. this process went well and turned into a 4 beer order. then we order to eat, but we rarely order food to share, but we did this tonight and it was a 10 garnel and 10 mud bugs on alfredo pasta cooked by cortez in the kitchen and manalapan it was good! so good my last one that a repetition it is self-cooked frankly said she couldn't do better her own. well done young! we'd be back if we could. delicious and helpful people;
The burger was fabulous as the waitress said it was. That's her biggest seller. The gum was very good. The Hush puppies were boiled...
