Reviews summary

Red Hook delivers bold, authentic seafood in a lively, pirate‑themed room with generous portions, strong seasoning, and a central bar. Many diners praise fried and steamed dishes, accessibility, and friendly staff who create a festive atmosphere for dates, groups, and casual family meals. Experiences vary: service and consistency can be spotty—slow or inattentive servers, occasional cold or overcooked sides, and minor presentation shortcuts. Expect casual tableware, occasional auto‑gratuity on large parties, and mixed kid amenities.

As you can tell, we had a fun and adventurous time at the Red Hook Saturday night. We had a delightful time and enjoyed the bibs and gloves and brown paper on the table which all kept us from making a huge mess! The food was cooked perfectly and theatmosphere was exceptional. They cooks did an amazing job with the fried calamari and fried alligator tail. The portion sizeswere just right and left plenty of room for dessert, although their could use a little work, possibly with some homemadeoptions.

We visited Red Hook for lunch during the week and loved the atmosphere and friendly service. We ordered the sampler, boudin balls, and steamed shrimp, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The catfish was flaky and flavorful, and the steamed shrimp were absolutely delicious! We will definitely be returning!

We celebrated my daughter's 12th birthday at Red Hook, and it was an amazing experience! Our server was incredibly kind, and we were thrilled to receive a complimentary cheesecake along with a full birthday song. The bill was a bit on the higher side due to an 18% gratuity for our party of six, which consisted of just one adult. However, the atmosphere was delightful, with great music and a wonderfully diverse staff. Everyone was friendly and made us feel right at home. Plus, I have to say the food was absolutely delicious!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was very friendly. Be sure to ask for Ashley; she was fantastic and great with large groups. I will definitely be coming back!

The service and staff are consistently warm and friendly! Although I’m not a seafood lover, my boyfriend gave it a perfect 10/10 for flavor and raved about the fantastic crab legs! Our server, Doe Jane, was attentive and prompt, ensuring all our needs were met. She was truly exceptional!

I received a generous portion of food that I couldn't finish! As for wheelchair accessibility, there is a designated spot available.

Passing through Jackson, I wanted some fish and decided to try the Red Hook. It was Saturday noon, so the normal lunch menu wasn't available. I had a $14 catfish plate, adding a $1 upcharge to substitute onion rings for french fries. The onion rings were pitiful, made of minced onions rather than sliced ones. The fish had a well-flavored batter, but could have used a little trimming to remove more of the grey matter. The server was attentive. The tableware was a plastic fork.

The food at Red Hook was amazing! I do wish they provided scissors instead of crackers, though. It was pretty warm inside, and I felt like the air conditioning was struggling to keep up with the heat. They had fans, but sadly, they weren't very effective. The menu was definitely worth it!

This is the only authentic seafood restaurant in town. The owner is fair and exceptionally kind, especially in difficult situations. The food is more than satisfactory, with generously sized shrimp and crab legs. The service is quite good as well. You can enjoy music while dining, and the atmosphere evokes a pirate ship theme, featuring a wooden decor and a central bar. It's a fantastic spot to dine out with family, thanks to a reasonably priced kids' menu. It's also a great choice for a date or a casual meet-up with friends to enjoy music and drinks. Overall, it's a laid-back place that delivers a pleasant experience.

The only downside was that the meal only came with one hush puppy when we think it should have included two. However, that minor detail didn't detract from the overall fantastic meal and excellent service. The manager stopped by to check on us after our meal, and I regret that I can't remember his name. He was a pleasant young man with a clear sense of priorities. We both highly recommend this place if you're looking for great seafood, and we will definitely be returning! As for wheelchair accessibility, there's a concrete ramp at the entrance wide enough for a wheelchair and even enough space for two people to walk side by side.
