Godfrey's - Jackson

I’ve been to Godfrey’s many times but this is my first time at this location. The decor is very nice inside and the service is basic. I had the coconut shrimp and they were terrible. They were very salty and it seemed like they were fried in a heavy batter for like pork chops or something. I could look at it and tell I wasn’t going to like them. I had them many times before so I know that they are normally good.

I frequently review different restaurants and recently posted a TikTok about this place (mfields678). The food was delicious, and I didn’t leave anything on my plate. The staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming. This is their second location, but I’ve heard that the first one at 2640 Terry Road, Jackson, MS 39204 has even more to offer. We plan to check that one out next for their drinks with fruit and all the tasty options. A big thank you to the helpful lady at this location – she definitely deserves a raise!

The greens, macaroni, and yams are delicious. I strongly recommend the greens and cornbread! The jerk ribs and oxtails are absolutely fantastic. Everything here is great. One plate will definitely fill you up!

From the sign outside the building to the decor inside, the customer service, and even the food, my husband and I enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The food was spectacular and beautifully presented.

This is a new offshoot of the original Godfrey's. I had never been to the original. I feel like I've really missed out. I got the curry chicken and it was phenomenal. I recommend getting it with the beans and rice; they compliment each other so well. And they have possibly the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. Prices are a little higher than what you think, but the quality and amount of food make it feel worth it.
