Our group of 15 walked in and I must commend the young man work... read more We always enjoy stopping at Cook Out when we're in the South, so we decided to have lunch there. Our group of 15 walked in and I must commend the young man working there. The other woman at the counter seemed a bit surprised by our large group (the restaurant was pretty empty), but he handled it with ease. He took our orders quickly and with a smile on his face the entire time. The food came out promptly, although they did forget a few items at the end.

Be prepared to wait as the staff takes their time deciding what to make, only to end up with disappointing dishes. The spicy chicken sandwich is lackluster with bland salad and an overwhelming amount of mayonnaise. The bacon wrap is just a plain flour tortilla filled with lettuce and bacon. The hush puppies taste store-bought and deep-fried. The "gonaco" is essentially red Doritos with a questionable filling and a side of acidic cream, all thrown haphazardly into a bag. I would not recommend returning to this restaurant. The location on the coast is no better, although at least there were no flying insects present.

A worker saw me, made eye contact, and then walked away to the cooking area. I continued to wait, now over 10 minutes. This lack of customer service is completely unprofessional. After 14 minutes, I decided to leave. I observed workers in the back eating during food preparation and found it to be disgusting. While I have enjoyed dining here in the past, the service today was unacceptable.
