In mid-April, after a roughly three-hour train journey, we arrived at Como San Giovanni station and, with our rolling suitcases, set off towards the old town, where our hotel was located, navigating potholed sidewalks and bumpy cobblestones. Thirsty and craving a little refreshment, the shady terrace of the Krudo restaurant seemed like a godsend: fresh air, plenty of space for our luggage – just what we needed for this moment of arrival. We shared a portion of avocado bruschetta with a refreshing Crodino and mineral water. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel instantly welcome. Both the drinks and the food were to our liking, although we would have preferred a bit more seasoning and a little less balsamic vinegar on the bruschetta. So there we sat, content and a little relieved to have finally arrived in Como – delighted with this first, uncomplicated place that had given us such a warm welcome.
It's located in a small square with lots of beautiful trees. The main draw is the Leffe draft beer, which is very fresh, just like in Belgium, and the staff is friendly.
The cocktails were great, the staff was friendly and very welcoming. The food was delicious and we didn’t need to wait long. We even went back after out boat tour for a second round of drinks.
