you can be fooled, and this place could do with a re-design from its interior, but the menu is fascinating and has a lot of dishes that I have never tried, let alone heard. it's hard to find this type of authentic Chinese cooking in london and I'm very happy that yipin china is reachable to foot. before 17 o'clock they have a special menu with a selection of dressed with rice for only 5,50 I'm sure there are some inc... great meal. we really enjoyed eating that was nicely prepared and a huge step up from the usual Chinese tariff. freshly cooked and the waiter was very happy to recommend to us what was delicious. we will always return. View all feedback.
Too much salt We hadn't been here for a while and although the food is mostly really good, and authentic, including some interesting dishes you won't easily find elsewhere, it IS over salted; all of us felt the same. Apart from that I do recommend it and the waiter was really friendly, a good atmosphere all round. May be worth requesting if it's possible to use less salt before ordering.
The food here is authentic and amazing i actually haven’t had chinese food this good anywhere else. The menu is big but the quality seems to be great with every dish
Great place for Chinese food. I’d recommend Gong Bao chicken! All of the dumplings and rice dishes are lovely too. The cold starters are nice, but I’d recommend only if you feel adventurous.
Pleasant bustling restaurant a short stroll from Angel tube serving Hunanese, Schezhuan and Cantonese dishes. The Hunanese style is so different from conventional Chinese food and involves a lot of offal and a huge amount of chillies ranging from green and mildish to small red and fiery. It was full the night we went so we were in a side room on a table for up to 8 with a lazy susan which was great fun as we ordered a Lot! Too much but we did near enough finish it all. Veggie highlights included cold spicy lotus root, sweetcorn with pine nuts and chilli, thin strips of very very hot spiced potato and black mushrooms with chilli and coriander. All were excellent, well presented and so so different. Meat highlights included strips of beef in cumin (gorgeous), beef with asparagus, twice cooked belly of pork and spicy schezhuan chicken (cold). Service was friendly and smooth. We stayed quite late and there was no problem. Good choice of wines and one of our favourite Pino Grigios.....Principato. Only confusion was my friend ordered a bottle of water and the waiter arrived with a bottle of vodka! I would definitely recommend it highly but do not go unless you like (at the very least) very spicy food. We are looking forward to going again. Time to be even bolder the next visit and try some of the jellyfish and offal dishes
I’m a native new yorker and a bit of a snob. at least when it comes to two things: chinese food and pizza. chinese food in america had been on such a downhill slide that i had virtually stopped eating it before i left 6 years ago. london has it back on my menu. Yipin China is a prime reason why. it’s outstanding. particularly if you enjoy authentically spicy szechuan. friends are arriving at heathrow this afternoon and i’m looking forward to taking them there tonight. (note: i still wait to go back to new york for pizza. and bagels. the latter in particular. nothing here comes close).
