The Windmill In The City - Islington
The Windmill In The City
Description
The Windmill Pub offers traditional charm with a modern twist. While some may find the atmosphere lacking in history, the service can be hit or miss. Yet, the food consistently receives high marks, especially the meat pies which are described as some of the best in London. The menu offers a mix of Italian and British classics, with pasta dishes standing out. The staff, while friendly, can sometimes be overworked. Overall, the Windmill Pub provides a cozy setting for drinks or a meal, with standout dishes like the veal and minced meat pie. Highly recommended by many patrons.

Good pizza, terrible beer, high prices. Overall an exceptionally mid pub. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5
Nice bar with good ales and pizza shame about the remarkably unfriendly service from the small bartender, but maybe she was just having a bad day Price per person: £1–10
I went to a bar last Thursday evening for a drink after work. Upon arriving, a lady pushed her way through us and rudely told us we were in her way. She turned out to be the new manager, and her attitude was very aggressive and moody. At the bar, a kind bartender served me, but I accidentally spilled a glass of Guinness. The same lady came over and angrily cleaned up without acknowledging me. My friends at the bar were also confused by her behavior. When I asked her why she was being so rude, she denied it and claimed she had asked us to move multiple times, even though we had just arrived. Later, I overheard her calling me a derogatory term to a staff member. It was clear that the staff were afraid of her. Overall, we were disgusted by her behavior and lack of customer service skills. We will not be returning to that establishment.
Despite its somewhat shabby appearance and faint odor of drains, this restaurant serves absolutely amazing pizza - the best I've had outside of Italy. The staff is also incredibly friendly. The no-cheese vegan pizza is a game changer.
