Pizzadelique - Islington
Pizzadelique
Description
Nestled in Finsbury Park, this restaurant has garnered mixed reviews from patrons. While its inviting atmosphere and commendable pizza have earned it loyal customers, recent experiences paint a less favorable picture. Long wait times, inconsistency in service, and a drop in food quality have left some diners feeling disappointed. Complaints about incorrect orders and unhelpful staff further mar the experience. However, there are shining moments, with some guests praising the warm hospitality and delicious food. Ultimately, while the restaurant remains a beloved spot for many, ongoing issues may deter potential visitors seeking a consistently enjoyable dining outing.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 20 years, always enjoying the food and atmosphere before Arsenal games. While the service has been inconsistent in the past, it was always friendly. However, recently, the friendly young waitresses have been replaced by unfriendly eastern European staff who are unresponsive and rude when spoken to. Despite being busy on football days, it shouldn't take 75 minutes from ordering to receiving food, forcing customers to rush their meal to make it to the game on time. The owner/manager should take responsibility and consider hiring extra staff in the kitchen and waitressing on busy game nights. While the food is still good, the poor service and slow service mean that I won't be returning until improvements are made.
We were the only customers when we had lunch at Pizzadelique. This is not a bad reflection on the restaurant, rather we went in as the previous customers headed out for a match at the Emirates Stadium. We were welcomed with a friendly smile, there was no fuss about accommodating a buggy and a high chair was rustled up from somewhere. It’s family friendly – childrens’ portions are an option. Complimentary nachos and hummus completed the welcome.Pizzadelique offers a wide range of starters, thin crust pizzas, pasta dishes, chargrilled steaks, Mex-Tex and rice dishes plus specials. The portions are big – my whitebait starter and side order of chips made up a very good lunch. It would take a big appetite indeed to cope with a three course meal here. And the food is excellent – collectively we had garlic French baguette, whitebait, scampi, squid rings, roasted aubergine and ‘Free Choice Pizza (Any 4 available toppings)’ and all were delicious. We had a litre carafe of house white, which was quite adequate. Prices are very reasonable. Pizzadelique is not posh, or even particularly smart, but it is a very good local restaurant. On that day Arsenal fans will have enjoyed both a fine lunch to keep out the March cold and a 3-0 win over West Ham.
Some of the best pizza in the area. For a long time, they didn't deliver, which was great in its own way. You got to see the restaurant which is a great spot for taking friends and family generally. Their pizzas are really well baked, though on this one occasion, the quattro stagioni looked like the toppings had just been piled on one side rather than across the pizza...forgiveable I guess, with it only happening once in all the years I have been going there.
