Kaburga - Islington
Kaburga
Description
The restaurant offers great takeaway kebabs, with freshly cooked meat over charcoal and fresh salads and sauces. The service is attentive, with the owner personally knowing customers' names. The menu is wide, offering quality dishes like Iskender and Adana kebabs. The restaurant, run by a husband and wife team, is clean and the food is always freshly cooked. Although prices are a bit high and it's cash-only, the overall experience is positive, making it a gem in the city for a satisfying meal.

Reliably good quality food and reasonably priced. Shish kebabs and salad very tasty. Izgara kofte also a favourite. All food freshly prepared and charcoal grill always on the go
I eat a lot of Turkish and Greek food, and have been to many restaurants. I love it and like to think I know a good shish... First the pro's, extremely friendly. Couldn't do enough. Cons...food mediocre, extremely over priced, but let me put this into perspective. I went in with a my child. I ordered, humous, cajic, hulumi (3 grilled pieces) small lamb shish (in most tukish restaurants this will come with salad and rice) and I asked for a bit of feta on my salad. This came to a wopping £26!! But hold it, when I called the restaurant after checking the prices online and realising it should have been only £17 I was told I was looking at the takeaway munu. This was the same menu I looked at when I was in the restaurant only it was on paper. No distinction between eating in or not. But whats worse, i then got a call to say i actuaaly hadnt been charged for the cajic! So technically my meal should have cost £30!!!! I had exactly the same at a different Turkish restaurant on Sunday and it was so much nicer and only came to £16. Needless to say I will not be recommending kaburger to anyone, nor will I be venturing in there again. Sorry kaburger....not good.
After a long day of work, I decided to stop by this restaurant on my way home. The service was good and the starters were delicious, but I do feel that the prices could be a bit more affordable.
We used to love going to Kaburga for lunch when we lived in the Caledonian Road area. The owner is incredibly welcoming and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel at home, whether you're taking your food to go or dining in. The food is delicious and affordable. If you're in the area, this is the place to go!
