Not the best selection of beers but it's decent for normal pubs in London. The pizzas though, are superb!!! So good and not pricey. All my Italian friends love it too : There's also plenty of cozy seating space of all heights. unfortunately closed on weekends : View all feedback.
What Katie O doesn't like about City Pride:
If you want pineapple or chicken on your pizza....you will be disappointed as it does not feature on the menu. If you are looking for the best pizza you’ve ever eaten in this country, you should try this place. You won’t ever want a Hawaiian pizza again. View all feedback.
My experience at this restaurant was very pleasant. I was initially disappointed to see only 2 hand-pumps serving London Pride, but the quality of the ale was excellent. The atmosphere was quiet during the afternoon, but became lively in the evening with a younger crowd. The background music was not intrusive, which was appreciated. I noticed that our group seemed to be the only ones drinking real ale, so I complimented the cellarman, who turned out to be Luigi. He was humble about the quality of the ale, assuring me that it was consistently good. We decided to stay for dinner and were pleased with the wide selection of pizzas available at a great value. The waiting time was reasonable, and even though my calzone arrived slightly later than the others, it was delicious. Luigi went above and beyond by offering me a complimentary half pint of Pride as an apology for the delay. There were also options for those with special dietary requirements, making the dining experience even more accommodating. Overall, it was a positive experience with great food and excellent ale.
Amazing pizza. Such a choice and authentic but have to agree with a previous reviewer. The staff are not the friendliest bunch. I booked a table for 11 for a Wednesday afternoon. It was very quiet with one girl serving. She didn't smile once. Not even when we were leaving. She knocked Excellent down to Very Good as definitely five stars for the pizza!
You cannot fault the pizza, it is delicious, however, the customer service was awful. Staff were unfriendly, it felt like they didn 't want us there (there were 10 of us at lunchtime it was quiet and we were bringing them in quite a bit of money). When I went to pay the bill they tried to charge us £54 for two glasses of Prosecco! When I queried it they updated the bill, and refunded the difference to my credit card. We still didn 't get a sorry or a friendly goodbye though. Appalling, won 't be going back.
The pizza was okay, but it was not good enough to make me want to go back, given the plethora of options in the area.
Thanks for hosting a bunch of archaeologists for upstairs event. Very welcoming and fantastic food. Recommended!
