The Vectis Tavern - Isle of Wight

I regularly visit the Isle of Wight throughout the year and always stay in Cowes. This weekend, I invited some friends from Holland to join me. We visited different attractions on the island during the day and spent our evenings relaxing in Cowes. The Vectis is a favorite spot for me and my wife, so we naturally went there for some drinks. They have karaoke on Thursday, a DJ on Friday, and live sports on Saturday afternoon (England vs Chile rugby). Later in the evening, we returned for more drinks and dancing. The Vectis never fails to disappoint with its safe and friendly environment, great mix of people, and fantastic staff.

After visiting a nearby restaurant, we stopped by this restaurant for a quick drink and were immediately impressed by the professional and welcoming attitude of the two bouncers at the door. We were even more impressed by the staff at the bar. What was meant to be a quick drink turned into a few more, and despite it getting busier on a Saturday night, the staff remained fabulous and friendly. We only left because we had to wake up early the next day, but it was a lovely establishment with fantastic service.

Usually a great place used it as my local for many years. however their cliental has gone down hill recently attracting younger more drunk individuals not a good place to be now for a night out at the weekend. New security on the door are miserable and unfriendly. Bring back the usual security and more reputable drinkers. Won't be going there anytime soon.

I had another enjoyable night out in Cowes! This pub never fails to impress with its great music, friendly staff, and the way they pour beer right to the bottom of the glass. Hopefully I'll be back in the summer, when staying out drinking until 3 in the morning doesn't feel so bad!
