We made a reservation for 3 adults and 2 children. The entrance of the restaurant was pleasant, but once we were seated, it was clear that the decor had not been updated in many years, possibly even decades. We have been frequenting this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the delicious food, the friendly service, and the extremely reasonable prices.
Really good food staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend them. Topnotch will be back again soon.
A very warm atmosphere and very friendly staff made me feel very welcome. An unpretentious but very good food. On walking in I asked two leaving guests how their meal was excellent they said. And I then went on to enjoy my own meal which was the vegetarian nut roast with mushroom sauce that came with green veg and chips all very tasty. I can 't say the sea of mushroom sauce looked expecially attractive, but it tasted delicious, which is what I was hoping for.
My wife and I live on the Isle and sometimes, when we don't feel like cooking, we like to eat out. We decided to go to Appley Manor for dinner, as it is local and we have been there before. Reading other reviews online, it seems like people have had mixed experiences at this restaurant. Everyone has different preferences, and some days the food may be better than others. As someone who has worked in a kitchen before, I know that the head chef plays a big role in the quality of the meals. While my wife enjoyed her meal, I found mine to be lacking in portion size and quality. The service was excellent and the price was average. Overall, I would rate my experience halfway on a scale of 1-10. Appley Manor should work on improving consistency in their kitchen to ensure a better dining experience for their customers. Additionally, the restaurant could use a renovation.
We made a reservation for 3 adults and 2 children. The entrance of the restaurant was pleasant, but once we were seated, it was clear that the decor had not been updated in many years, possibly even decades. The menus and lighting were mismatched and disorganized. We had to order food at the bar and drinks separately, which was a bit inconvenient. The wait time was reasonable. The food looked average and the portion sizes were excessive, especially the cottage pie with too much potato and chips. My son's waffle dessert was hard and stale. Overall, the experience was okay, but I would not return unless they updated the decor and improved the freshness of the food.
