They had a “dessert oyster” there not on the menu and it was amazing. Never thought I’d eat an oyster for dessert. Lovely venue and good wine. Great for a weekend afternoon retreat. View all feedback.
What Ashley Gomez doesn't like about The Dog And Oyster Micro-vineyard And Oyster:
First, though, I will say the staff were very friendly and helpful. That said, our experience was only okay: I did not care for the wine, with or without the oysters, and the roasted oysters (which we had, obviously) were not the amazing like the waitress said they'd be. There was also the smell of fertilizer wherever you sat under the tent. It just was a different experience than I realized it would be, probably bec... View all feedback.
We drove from Yorktown for Chesapeake Wine Trail weekend event to find only three people working the event. Tables unturned. People flagging down the three over tasked people just to get a drink. It appeared as if very few people had food. Three families left without being served within an hour with us just showing up. Disappointed.
We recently visited the new location for the Dog Oyster at the Hope Gory Inn. We enjoyed the wine and the oysters very much! However, given the upscale atmosphere and the price, I would expect that wine tastings and the glasses of wine we ordered to come in wine glasses (not plastic cups). We was at the Tides Inn for our anniversary and we stop at this place and was a amazing experience, the wine was so good and the staff was so kind, I really recommend the Oyster White Wine.

I love this new space. The only reason I’m not giving this five stars is the fact they are using all plastic throw away cups and plates. You’d think where they are located they’d use really glasses, I understood at their other location why they used plastic. The wine is really good. We also tried their “dessert” oyster. Sooo good.
