Clayton's Pots Jamaican - Irvington
Clayton's Pots Jamaican
Description
This cozy gem offers delicious food, despite some shortcomings. While the fried chicken was undercooked and lacked seasoning, the staff were kind and accommodating. On the downside, some customers encountered rude behavior and pricing inconsistencies. However, the restaurant's generosity in providing meals for the Ronald McDonald House stood out. The J Chicken Sandwich with Fries and Steam Fish snapper received high recommendations, along with outstanding Banana Pudding. Clayton's Pots impressed with their tasty dishes, including excellent beef stew, despite a disappointing mac and cheese. Overall, Clayton's Pots offers reasonable prices, great customer service, and delicious homestyle cooking.

I'm not one to write reviews but I'm was introduced to this restaurant by my inlaws who I'm visiting out of town I only eat fish and let me tell you something his wife sure knows how to make the perfect fish Monday I had brown stew salmon, Tuesday brown stew snapper, yesterday steamed snapper and today I bought two escovitch snapper one I had the other to take back to PA we don't get good Jamaican food there, my wife had the oxtails which is off the bone good the food is worth every penny
The Curry ? chicken ? was delicious ? I enjoyed it very much ?. Will definitely go back
I had Clayton cater the j chicken for a potluck at my job, the chicken was finished before the potluck started. The food was so good that I had them cater for my family for Thanksgiving. The prices are reasonable and the food is awesome!!!! Don't hesitate to eat from Clayton's Pots, real homestyle cooking!!
Their beef stew ? is rocking, I can't lie I've only try two things and I recommend the beef stew, overall! Mac and ? was the worst I've ever had my 18 yr old need too be up in there because their Mac and cheese ? I swear I was so disappointed. But their beef ? stew I will give props when due is the best I've ever tasted!
This cozy little restaurant is a gem. I would have given it five stars, but unfortunately the fried chicken was undercooked. It seemed like it had been prepared earlier that day and lacked seasoning. It tasted raw. Despite this, I didn't have the heart to complain because the staff were very kind. I ended up taking it home and cooking it further to improve the taste.
