Was Bobby at El Comal a mag?
Barbacoa was outstanding, and the San Luis plate was both delicious and tender. The homemade corn tortillas were fresh, thick, and very enjoyable. However, we didn't care for the flavor of the menudo. The staff was friendly, but they could have been a bit more attentive. View all feedback.

What Kristopher McClain dislikes about El Comal:
The highlight of this restaurant was definitely the windows. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. I had to give this place 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. The waitress didn’t even write down our order. She brought me a meat chile relleno instead of the cheese one I requested. When I sent it back, she returned with the correct dish—but it was undercooked. The breading wasn’t cooked through, and the salad was warm and old. I drove 40 minutes from Garland because their food was good last time, only to get raw food and a terrible michelada that had more ice than beer. Usually, micheladas come in a reserved beer bottle—I didn’t get that here. The waitress said she couldn’t do anything since the owner wasn’t around. I understand Monday evenings can be slow, and there were only three customers, but this was disappointing.

Although the menu and prices have been updated, I thought the ceviche tostadas were tasty. However, my guests were not impressed, and we all agreed that the customer service was very poor. The waitress showed no customer service skills—she never greeted us or made any recommendations. When we asked her questions about the menu, her brief answers made my guests feel awkward. Her attitude was very sour and emotionless. We didn’t get any drink refills, and our plates were left on the table until after we had paid. Overall, we were very disappointed.

I ordered the flautas with beans and rice. It was delicious, and I will definitely order from here again. Thank you very much!

Even though the place was empty, it took ages for our server to take our order, as she was preoccupied chatting with another table. We didn't receive any drink refills, and our dessert arrived before our main course; it was greasy and served cold, with the center of the churro not even melted. Each time our food was delivered, the server remained silent, despite our attempts to thank her. We ordered nachos, two churros, and shared four tacos, which totaled $50—far too expensive for the quality of food we received. We won’t be coming back. Diners, proceed with caution!
