I wanted to experience this restaurant for myself, but I was feeling a bit lazy, so I decided to order takeout instead. I got the fish and chips, calamari, and the New England clam chowder with jalapeño sauce. I absolutely loved the clam chowder; it was thick and generous with the ingredients. I noticed the fish was a bit soggy, but I still found it quite tasty. Dipping it into the crackers was fantastic. The calamar... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Portside Fish Co.:
1. Had to wait for a salesperson to come to the counter. 2. Had fish and chips. Overpriced compare to other local places 4 piece for $12. Fries looks good but they add too much spice. Fish is OK. Sauce is too hot. 3. Coke in a 0.5l bottle is $3.70 ???????? Overall: Pricey. It's ok to come here for a quick bite/ seafood, but if you have time go for a better local alternatives See google maps .
Taco Tuesday $3 gourmet tacos. the best $3, you'll ever spend.
This place have Delicious food. I will most definitely visit again when I return to Irvine Ca. San Pedro Platter it was around $75.00 per platter.
Don 't get the soggy fish n chips if you like them fried and crispy! Poor customer service. I told them my fish was soggy and they said it 's fish and when I asked if I could swap it with something else the cashier asked the cook and he said for her to tell me that 's how it is and rejected my request to swap with something else. I went back again to give them a second chance and explained also it just happens to be my birthday (St. Patrick 's day , and the cashier asked if I was recording her, I said no I 'm writing you a review on Yelp (Google now too . I 'm simply asking are you telling me YES OR NO? To the question of if I can swap it out with something else. She went to the cook again and asked him. She asked if I wanted a refund or swap it out. I said swap it out (I don 't want them to lose money totally, I used to run my own restaurant with my own recipes and menu. It 's hard to believe someone would question ones intelligence on how fish n chips are supposed to be. I started off with a 1 star review. Bumped them to a 3 star even tho it had to take me telling them it 's my birthday and they are getting reviewed to do so... Not a good business strategy. Any restaurant owner/chef knows the basic rules to customer service when food doesn 't come out to par... Even if I was remotely wrong... Which I 'm not as you can see by the video I 'm posting along with this to show how soggy they were and this is right after they came out... Given that... The fries are great. Mac n cheese heavy but as expected and amazingly so. The burritos seem to be very popular here and for good reason. The clam chowder was amazing and the sour dough bread perfect! Sour dough is my favorite and it was extra sour and crunchy, great for dipping in the chowder. I 'd say this place would be a 4.5 to 5 stars even with the soggy fish n chips, but obviously customer service goes a long way and it can make or break a review. Obviously these reviews are skewed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Quality of food sometimes could be half as good but customer service would have their sales boom if met properly. I 'd say stop serving soggy fish n chips or start making it correctly.

I'm planning to visit this place in person next week because I know the food will taste even better fresh!
