Houston's is an excellent restaurant where you can savor a delicious meal and drinks in a lovely setting. The service and ambiance are fantastic. The waitress was very attentive to my partner's milk allergy, which I appreciated. It is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Houston's Irvine:
I notified the restaurant when I made the reservation that this was a birthday celebration. Other than one member of the staff saying Happy birthday there was nothing else offered. ie dessert, bowl of ice cream? I ordered a champagne cocktail and they didn 't have the fixings for it, in fact the waitress did not know what the drink was. I had mentioned to friends that the drinks here were good. Hmmm. Great, consistent meals. The French dip is amazing as is the Thai steak noodle salad. Can't wait to go back.
I only compare my Houston's dining experience with that of the Pasadena location and this particular location always lacks in service ! Always regret coming here!
Zero corkage fee equals zero service. Everytime we have brought in our own bottle of wine , service has gone down the tubes. I'm not sure why all the servers across the board have such a bad attitude towards this , but they do. By bad service I mean, neglectful in clearing any plates, no water refill, no checking if you need anything, ripping the foil off the top of the bottle so the jagged edges still touch the wine pour, stuffing the cork in their pocket after opening the bottle, slopping the pour so it spills and on and on. Go to Ruth Chris or Panini Cafe, same parking lot. ...much much better service and attitude.
Houston's waitstaff is exceptional, you feel like you have a team of professionals serving you, The prime rib French dip is the best
Monday's soup of the day red beans with rice is especially good.
