Wonderful place quality price. The waitress who served us today, a girl with glasses, was wonderful. Clear example of what a great waitress should be.... which is not easy. Good service makes your food taste better. Thanks for everything
Unbeatable quality/price. Homemade putxero food like grandma's. Very generous quantities, they leave the casserole for you to serve yourself. For €11 starters, seconds and desserts and drinks. Lots of variety to choose from
This is a small restaurant tucked away in a side street near the market square (there is a weekly market on Saturdays). It is very like a family home, not just atmosphere, decoration and food, also the patrons, which are almost all locals. One table seems to be reseved for a group of men in their seventies (or older) which gather here every day for lunch. The dishes are traditional basque home-cooking, there is no written menú, the waitress just tells you what is available. Usually you have the choice between six or seven starters, like salad, pasta, different kind of vegetables and soups and as many main courses like fried fish, chicken, turkey, meatballs, escalope, etc. and to finish it off with a home made dessert. Quality is good, you won't leave hungry, and the staff is quick. If you are in hurry you can have your lunch in half an hour but no one urges you to leave if you want to stay longer. And all this for 9€ (including the wine). I have eaten here several times and the quality of the food and service is stable. Just learn a few basic words in Spanish or Basque to manage the names of the dishes.
Spectacular Revoltosa vintage, good taste on the nose, soft on the palate, light lemon aroma, no calories, feat.
