Giakoumes - Irakleion

We ate at a local kitchen and tried almost 10 dishes from the menu including moussaka, Greek salad, and lamb with potatoes. The flavors were excellent, the portions were generous, and the service was good. Thank you.

I always dine at Giakoumes when I'm in Heraklion. Today, I tried the traditional dish of horta, wild greens harvested from the owner's mother-in-law's garden. While I savored the dish, the owner went to the butcher shop around the corner to get me a perfectly cooked steak. This attention to detail in both the food and service is what sets Giakoumes apart as my top choice for dining in Heraklion.

Beautiful family-run location with excellent friendly, personal and personable service. the owner came to welcome me and have a chat, although I'm here for a quick lunch. the lamb was tender and freshly grilled. simple, but very tasty. the main drawing is the wonderful service. highly recommended.

First class Traditional Greek cuisine. Prompt and friendly service by owner and family. Better by far to a lot of other resort tavernas and Restaurants will visit again!!.
