In its place, Ravenswood fish and chips has opened, offering good quality but at a high price. Although I may go back, ordering just fish and chips twice with a side of cod roe ended up costing nearly £30.

Overall, it's usually decent.

My husband ordered jumbo haddock large chi... read more Went in tonight after a very hard day, really looking forward to fish chips. Cannot believe how disappointed we were! My husband ordered jumbo haddock large chips, which is usually more than ample between us. We halved the fish and my husband got 2 mouthfuls of fish, I got 2 mouthfuls of battered skin. No way was this jumbo size. The chips were like cardboard, no taste and most of them cut too thin, so certainly didn't feel like we had a large portion. The fish was overcooked. I was so cross but my husband wouldn't let me complain. Hate feeling ripped off and we most certainly were. The lady serving us was friendly and helpful. Also seemed dirty, vinegar bottles were dirty and small flies around where we ate.

I said i was ok to wait.she said she would wrap chips up while the sausage cooked. That’s was wrong as after 15 minutes waiting they would be cold. She then went the this person who I would guess was the manager who gave us a disgusting look because I had asked for fresh chips when the sausage was cooked !!! If I had looked at someone like that I would expect to be put in my place. Steer clear.
