We went with Brazilian friends who chose the restaurant because of the positive reviews. Our simple order took 45 minutes to arrive at the table. One of the dishes was incorrect (they brought a double order instead of the single we’d ordered). Instead of leaving...the dish and charging us for a single, they took the dish away and we had to wait another 15 minutes. No apology, nothing offered to compensate us, NOTHING! The rest of the dishes were salty and otherwise tasteless. And the prices were very high. Our Brazilian hosts were embarrassed at such bad food and terrible service. Neither they nor we will ever return to Domingos.
Extensive wine list, excellent seafood and great service. Went with my whole family and we all agreed it was wonderful.
We went there with our Brazilian friends who have been taking great pleasure in sharing their country's wonderful cuisine. Kind of fancy looking place that had gotten decent reviews so we were surprised by how awful our meal was. Three of us got different seafood...crepes. Small portions, which in my case was a good thing because apparently the chef simply covered the lobster lagostino) in cream of mushroom soup. Salty and boring. But that wasn't the worst part. We waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive. One of our party had ordered another seafood dish for one the custom is to offer an option of meals for two). When the server finally brought it, our friend observed that the portion was for two. In response, the server then removed the dish. No apology, no nothing. After another 10 minutes they served the dish for one. The manager was right there and never apologized or offered a free beer or removed the charge or anything a competent manager might do after making a mistake on top of making guest wait so long for their food. Absolutely cold. This was doubly shocking since for 10 days we have eaten delicious meals in all sorts of places, served with smiles and careful attention. This restaurant is full of itself and serves lousy food. How they stay in business is beyond me.
We have been in Brazil for one week, and Domingos is by far the best restaurant we have eaten at. It was recommended to us by another couple who had already eaten here. The decorations are amazing, and all of the food we tried was...fantastic (especially the lobster). Fredson and Márcio were great hosts.
