The homemade pickles were absolutely delicious! The service was excellent, and the outdoor seating area was beautiful, providing a nice escape from the bustling city center and its graffiti. The sauce options were unique, plentiful, and very tasty. We shared a platter among three people, and all the meats were delightfully light—not heavy enough to make you want to nap. Everything was cooked to perfection. I highly r... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mosley's Barbecue And Provisions:
Either they were understaffed or there was no management who knew how to help a server put in orders. Not a great experience. We were seated at a table and ordered drinks. Waited for twenty minutes. Never got drinks. Asked about drinks. Finally arrived. We waited again. Another table has been seated and ordered drinks and got food as well before our server came back. The device the server was using was to take orders... View all feedback.
This restaurant offers one of the best happy hours in downtown Iowa City. Enjoy fantastic deals on weekdays and weekends from 3 PM to 6 PM, with an extra bonus happy hour from 9 PM to midnight! The BBQ is excellent, and don't miss out on trivia night every Monday at 8 PM. Be sure to ask for Luke; he will take great care of you throughout the evening!
Suffers with Iowa City Meh! Sandwiches were good. Sides, well… potato salad other than being fridge cold had the same flavor as water, tasteless, Coleslaw was mass produced bog standard, sadly drowning in its dressing, Mac &Cheese screamed packet variety. Fries not an option. Overall sandwiches decent but in my opinion poor to not great options for sides. Will I go there again? Not by my choice.
The bowl of chili was dry and didn’t even have half a cup of actual soup. The sandwiches were mostly bun with a tiny amount of meat. Plus our order was 15 minutes late for pick up. Totally not worth the price or time. Jimmy Jacks Rib Shack is a significantly better in terms of food quality, customer service, and overall value.
Ordered a meat and three to share with my boyfriend. Says it’s supposed to be a pound of meat but seemed like maybe a half pound. We got coleslaw, beans, and Mac n cheese for our sides, plus added corn bread. When the server brought us our food for the party of 10, the food was dropped off randomly and we had to figure out what went where. The pulled chicken was insanely dry, the coleslaw was watery to the point of having a bunch of liquid at the bottom of the serving cup (I’m talking at least an ounce), the beans were fine, the cornbread was nothing to write home about, seemed like it was a box of jiffy, but the Mac n cheese was actually quite good. I asked for a sample of a beer and the server brought out a full beer, left before I could say anything. Whatever, drank half the beer even though it wasn’t good (in my opinion). When it came time to pay, four of the people of our party were on separate checks. She (the server) had to ask each person what they ordered to split their check on the handheld, then have them pay. After those four had paid, they got up to leave and she stopped them asking what she had done wrong to make them not tip, to which each person replied that they had tipped. It was very embarrassing and just not something you say in front of a group of people. Two of the couples paid and left while we were the last to pay. The server asked us what we ordered, which we told her, and she said that someone in our group had not paid, pointing out a specific couple that had been there. I said that I had watched them swipe their card and the server asked if she had given them the handheld, which I replied that she had. We paid and left. Totally a horrible experience and will not go back. Tried the NL location a few years ago and would give it another try.
HORRIBLE! The only thing good about this place was the waitress was nice. My first bite of the pulled chicken had a bone in it and tasted like it was a day old, the pulled pork was very salty, and the ribs were so tough I could barely get the meat off the bone. This place seems like they need to stick to being a bar and drop the bbq...
