Clinton Street Social Club - Iowa City

I miss going to this place as the perfect happy hour spot but the second covid is through I'm heading back here immediately!! They have awesome appetizers that are perfect with their happy hour deals. The drinks are different but delicious. The ambiance is very cool, hip, gastropub vibes. I would definitely take a date here or hangout with friends! They also have a pool table in a separate room which is awesome. The last time I was here there was a massive storm (not the derecho! and the waitstaff were very professional and I felt safe while the storm blew through. Love this place and will definitely come back!!!

Been to Clinton Street 25+ times. It’s my favorite spot in Iowa City. Great selection behind the bar. Great cocktails. Delicious appetizers. Don’t miss stopping here if you can.

It was really good. Tuesday was $1oyster night...it may only be for lent...happy surprise

I have visited this restaurant a few times and have always enjoyed the food, so I decided to celebrate my birthday here with seven friends. I made a reservation over a week in advance, so I assumed the restaurant would be prepared for a party of this size on a Tuesday evening. The dining room was busy, so I understood there might be a slight delay in some things, and our drinks and appetizers did take a while to arrive. However, our food came out in shifts. Two guests received their meals first, followed by the next three after five minutes, and the remaining three (including myself) waited over fifteen minutes for our entrees. During this time, our server briefly apologized and another woman, who I assumed was the manager, came by. I hoped for an explanation, but she simply stated, "sorry about that, there are a lot of people in the dining area tonight." She did not offer to make it up to us or provide any real excuse, just dismissed us. By the time we received our meals, most of the guests at our table had finished eating. I am giving this restaurant one star because, despite the amazing food and cocktails, the terrible service overshadowed everything else. Mandatory gratuity was included due to the size of my party, but everyone at the table was unhappy about having to tip for such poor service.

The service, drinks, and food at this restaurant are always top-notch!
