Tropical Smoothie Cafe - Ionia

I ordered an avocado grilled cheese with extra speck. There was barely any speck and no cheese at all. They consistently mix up my order, even when I order online. It is frustrating that they don't seem to pay attention to the details.

I arrived at the restaurant around 7:45 pm on a Monday and noticed that the "open" sign was out. However, when my partner and I attempted to enter, we were met by three workers in the lobby who stared at us. It appeared that Tropical Smoothie may not prioritize customer service, as they seemed to be closing earlier than their posted hours.

I ordered two meals and after waiting for a while, someone came out and informed us that they did not have rice available. We were given the option to wait 10 minutes or choose something else. We decided to wait and they went back to prepare the meals. However, another staff member came out shortly after and informed us that they were out of maple sweet potatoes as well. We were given the option to wait longer or choose a different side, so we opted for chips instead. The chips were terrible - not only did they taste bad, but they were also overly large and had massive swirls. They were so big that it was difficult to eat them in one bite. I wish I could share pictures of them as they were comically large.

Super friendly, helpful and quickly made our food! so glad that the inner is now open!

Morning staff is great every time i’ve gone in and i have never had a problem until i started going later in the day unfortunately the evening staff just do not care every time i go in the evening it’s a whole different vibe then the morning and the last time i went i got a smoothie that i always order and it was very biter and did not taste like it was supposed to at all and i was very disappointed pretty much wasted 13$ on smoothies i could’ve made better at home and everyone there was just messing around in the back caring less about their jobs.. if you want to go i recommend going earlier in the day before 2-3 because the morning people do so much better they are way more hardworking and friendly than the evening staff.
