Reviews - Torrish At Ness Walk
Reviews summary
Torrish At Ness Walk earns praise for its elegant setting, creative plates and standout vegan offerings, while also drawing criticism for inconsistent service and occasional missteps. Many guests celebrate the stylish interior, charming river views and thoughtful touches for special occasions; the wine list, cocktails and afternoon tea receive frequent commendation. However, several reviews note slow or inattentive service, uneven cooking (notably overcooked fish on occasion) and practical frustrations like a paid parking charge. Overall Torrish At Ness Walk feels like a confident, hospitality-driven destination that shines at times but has room to steady its service and execution.

The restaurant offers high-quality vegan cuisine with exceptional service in a stunning dining area. While the menu selection is limited, the dishes are well-prepared and beautifully presented, using locally sourced ingredients. A meal for two with drinks costs around £50, but the experience is worth it.
The vegan menu at this restaurant provides amazing options made with fresh, local ingredients. The quality of the food is exceptional and the presentation is beautiful. The meal was well-portioned for a 5-star hotel: appetizer 8, main course 18, dessert 8. This restaurant is a great choice for a stylish vegan dinner in Inverness!
We dined here on December 17th to celebrate my mother's birthday. Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious, the wine selection was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. They even surprised my mother with a charming gesture at the end, which was incredibly thoughtful. This was my second visit, and I will definitely be returning. I will continue to recommend this place to friends and anyone who inquires!
We have eaten here on the 17th of December for my mother's birthday. each member of the team was so friendly and attentive (but not on the top art!, eating was delicious, great wine list, beautiful atmosphere, and they brought a nice surprise for my mother at the end, which was really thoughtful. this was the second time I was, and I will go absolutely again and continue to be friends and recommend to anyone who asks!
The staff, cleanliness and accommodation were all excellent. we were in an icy room with magnificent views, but the sound insulation between the rooms was not great, we could easily hear our loud talking neighbours. we were disappointed that the staff did not seem to challenge the few guests to wear masks, a legal request at the time of our visit. the menu was good, but limited for our tastes. we stayed two nights and once had the chicken dish, it was inspiring. the other dishes were good. total excellent, but room for improvement.

The hotel is outstanding in every aspect. The rooms, staff, and food are all excellent. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic.
Rooms: It took a little time for our room to warm up, but that's just a quirk of the Scottish weather. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious. Nearby Activities: The location is excellent, just a short walk away from the attractions in Inverness. Food and Drinks: The quality and variety of the food and drinks were very good. Hotel Highlights: A luxurious and romantic setting!
Well this is one of the true 5 Star Experience in whole of Scotland. There isn't much to do in Inverness But this Hotel really helps you to dive into luxury and just relax. Went there for my first anniversary and enjoyed it. The only downside is that you have to pay £20 for the parking. The breakfast was also good with a good variety Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 4
I stayed here to celebrate completing the Great Glen Way, and being welcomed with a glass of champagne was the perfect way to conclude a long 21-mile trek from Drumnadrochit. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We did experience a small mix-up with our room assignment, ending up in an accessible room, but it didn't bother us at all. I really appreciated the staff's honesty about the situation, especially from Operations Manager Christopher. We also dined at the restaurant, which was outstanding—especially the dessert. There was a wide selection available for breakfast as well. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it if you're looking for a special place to stay.
A gorgeous property in a great location. But, we didn’t think of this as a five star property. They have very young people working at the restaurant and they clearly had very little experience. Service was slow and they’d often forget to bring us things like cream, more coffee or a drink. The staff were extremely formal. The property is gorgeous and is In an amazing location along the River. Rooms: 5

Had a lovely afternoon in a peaceful setting catching up with friends over afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly and accommodating of dietary requirements, explaining the menu etc. Sandwiches, scones and cakes yummy and a nice selection of flavours. Definitely recommend.
I read the reviews beforehand so I was partly expecting bad service, a long wait between dishes, and a somewhat stuffy atmosphere. We experienced pretty much none of those things. The restaurant is beautiful, and as soon as you walk in, the hotel receptionist happily escorted us to the restaurant hostess. She was very friendly and helpful throughout the evening to make sure we were taken care of. My husband and I live in California so we thought the price was just fine given how fresh and delic
Although the stay exceeded my expectations, I have to touch on the bar team. David, Azhar, and Julia were the most fun of the stay. They were attentive, knowledgeable and overall, a joy to be around. The night Azhar was bar tending must have been the best. He is a professional with an extensive knowledge and made the best expresso martini I have ever had. We look forward to our next stay.
We had the most fantastic dinner at the Torrish when we stayed for two nights at Ness Walk. The food was beautifully presented and each mouthful was a burst of flavour. We were celebrating my husband’s Birthday and had been a little disappointed at breakfast as there was a mix up with our order which meant we were left for 50 minutes without food. When I pointed this out, they apologised and we received it within five minutes. The evening meal made up for it though with both of us commenting
A very pleasant dining experience with excellent attentive service. Food was exceptional and well described on arrival. Slightly strange to have to settle the dining bill before being able to return to the bar for after dinner drinks rather than settle one bill at the end but otherwise a fine evening for a special occasion.

A hidden gem! This stylish and stunning restaurant by the River Ness offers amazing food beautifully presented. I had the duck breast, and my...
Absolutely disappointing. We had planned a delightful dinner for Father's Day, hoping it would be the highlight of our holiday. I was truly let down by this experience...
As we waited for dessert, the four of us indulged in deconstructed strawberries and cream as well as chocolate. I can't even begin to describe how rich and delicious they were—you simply have to try them! My partner opted for the cod, which he also declared perfect. Do yourself a favor and dine here to savor these amazing flavors! The service was excellent as well.
