Stayed here in May of 2023. The hotel was a pleasant walk from the city centre and was in a quiet setting despite being so close to the heart of the city. Staff were very friendly, the garden suite room we stayed in was very clean and well-appointed, and the property as a whole was very good value for money. Would definitely stay again on my next trip to Inverness. View all feedback.
Lovely afternoon tea had here at the Kingsmills hotel, I booked it last minute 10pm, went the next afternoon , I had requested quite a few things (food), wow everything was what I requested for and more they done amazing. Thank you! Highly recommend the afternoon tea. Really enjoy ourselves, service was great all staff welcoming and friendly. The ladies bathrooms are beautiful too.
Should say we 've stayed before over a number of years. Both in the newer building and in the garden rooms and been very happy. We booked at short notice this time and had our dog with us. Maybe that was a mistake. Garden rooms were taken and although it was thought we might be able to move to one on second night this was not possible. We were quite , actually very, disappointed with our stay this time, unfortunately. Room decor really old and worn furniture scratched and stained ,like a 1980s room really. Badly in need of upgrading. I said to reception we were not happy with run down room they said we had a dog . Told on booking we could eat in the lounge area with the dog but lounge transpired to be the busy ,noisy, area right in front of reception not what we knew as the lounge area above the restaurant. So we didn 't do that as it would not have been pleasant. Breakfast in room was OK we did not want to eat it in front of people checking out in reception area. But not what we wanted to do and an additional cost of course. Staying in garden rooms with the dog I imagine would be fine. But we had a miserable room and unpleasant stay, and its not the cheapest. Maybe they don 't seem that geared up to dogs. One photo by way of example.
Great breakfast! The manager's mother has celiac disease, so she was very well-informed about gluten-free options.
I dined at this restaurant for two dinners, and I was impressed with how the chef adapted the menu to meet my gluten-free needs. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the salmon paired with potatoes and some beets, which was fantastic. For dessert, the chef prepared a chocolate brownie served with ice cream and a mousse. I also enjoyed a gluten-free roll that accompanied the gluten-free soup of the day, which was potato leek. Overall, I have no complaints and experienced no adverse reactions.
