The high... read more Despite its four-star rating, this restaurant is one of our favorite spots. They offer pool and darts, excellent service, and reasonably priced drinks. The highlight is the karaoke several nights a week, accompanied by a lively crowd. Plus, they serve complimentary buttered bread! I also heard that during the summer, there's an outdoor bar with views of the water, which I can't wait to experience.

My dad was the senior chief hospital corpsman at the Naval Hospital at Great Lakes.... read more When I was 10 in 1969 we used to drive over here to spend the day and fish. My dad was the senior chief hospital corpsman at the Naval Hospital at Great Lakes. It was called Nan's Squaw Creek inn. The place has not changed much at all. The owner's wife used to feed bread to giant carp and catfish down at the far east end of the docks. We always ate lunch in the bar. We fished for bass, bullheads, bluegills and northerns.
