Feedback
Nestled in a welcoming environment, this restaurant offers a blend of friendly service and reasonable prices, making it a great spot for diners. While some dishes, such as the handmade ravioli, may have fallen short of expectations, the majority of food received praise, particularly the steaks and roast of the day. Cold, refreshing beers and accommodating staff enhance the experience, ensuring that guests feel valued even during busy periods. The venue is family-friendly, accessible, and offers ample parking. With a solid mix of quality food and attentive service, many patrons eagerly plan their return visits.
Today, we enjoyed lunch at this establishment and were pleasantly surprised to receive table service for both our meals and drinks. The service and the food were exceptional. A big thank you to Team Hinchinbrook!
We visited this restaurant last year and had an average meal, so we decided to give it another try. Despite not originally planning on getting takeout, we thought that since we were in Ingham, the fish meal should be good. We both ordered simple crumbed mackerel with vegetables. As someone who grew up in the far north and knows what fresh mackerel should taste like, I was disappointed with the flavor and texture of the dish. The mackerel was bland, dry, and chewy, lacking the soft, flaky, and moist qualities I expected. The crumbing easily fell off the fish and was quite tough, almost like a sourdough crumb. The mashed potatoes were average, though slightly too salty for my taste but acceptable for my companion. The vegetables were slightly overcooked but had a great variety. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Located very close to the town center, this restaurant offers plenty of street parking and wheelchair access. We tried the chicken and steak schnitzels with various toppings and options for sides such as vegetables, salad, and sauces. The cozy dining room in the back is suitable for all ages and offers full table service, with the added bonus of being located next to the public bar. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable, about 20% cheaper than similar restaurants in Rockhampton. I would definitely recommend this place and would gladly stop by for a meal while traveling.
**Beer, Service, and Atmosphere:** The beer was cold and refreshing, served promptly by the friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The wait time for service and meals was minimal, and there were already customers dining in with many more arriving as we placed our order. Outstanding quality for lunch! A definite 10/10—we will be back! Sorry, we didn't take any pictures of our meals; we couldn't wait to dig in!
