It was a sunday visit for us. We ordered roasted ginger garlic dosa and corn idli. Both tasted a bit above average but my wife found them to be very tasty. But the king of the lot was elaneer payasam. Its a dessert with coconut...pieces sprinkled in the milk. This and this dish alone earned two extra stars for my review. Go try it and thank me later!!! But for the food taste which mostly is what one likes I would not recommend this since they seem to rip off tweaking the menu but no value for money. For e.g. plain dosa is Rs.90 and the waiter recommended to go for Udipi dosa and said it can be shared by two (and its price is like Rs.150) but it is the same plain dosa with a chutney spread inside. We ordered Malabar curry and it was nothing like the traditional dish. They added cheese and other ingredients that made it taste completely different. I would not recommend this restaurant to Kerala food enthusiasts.
After reading rave reviews and ratings, I decided to give Banana Leaf a try. Unfortunately, I found the restaurant to be just average. The food quality was average, the service was slow, and the cleanliness was definitely lacking. Don't expect too much from this South Indian joint where food is served on banana leaves. That's about it.
We ordered thali and kaima parotta at the restaurant. The thali was just okay, the applam was not crispy. Most of the side dishes were North Indian like paneer. The rasam vada was okay, but the kaima parotta was very good. The dessert, metha pan, at the end was good.
This is pure veg restaurant lot of variety of food south Indian and north Indian meal are excellent
Yesterday Night I went there with my family we ordered masala Dosa Plain,Dosa and Onion Tomato Uttappam it was very good in taste specially coconut chutney. Staff is courteous and well behaved. And they offered complimentary halwa that was also nice they served pan with...bill that was amazing will visit soon again.
