Excellent! I will be back. The food was delicious! Service was fast and friendly. Nice little restaurant and conveniently located close to where I live. Think I just found a new favorite place for Mexican food. View all feedback.
What Carmel Hane doesn't like about La Hacienda:
I have eaten here more than a dozen times now. The service you get depends on who waits on your table. Whoever that is, no one else will pay you any never mind. One of my favorite things about a Mexican Restaurant is the salsa and chips. However, this time like last there were a lot of way past stale chips mixed in with the others. The tacos were great as expected. The service was OK. The wife didn’t like her food bu... View all feedback.
I am not familiar with many food options in Lawrence, and my boyfriend I came here for lunch because it was located near Fort Harrison state park and it was convenient for us. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Indy and here the service was the least friendly. Our server was just doing bare minimum, never checking on us after we ordered and got our food. He lacked personality too, and we were not taken care of. My dish was good, although it took long. However, other Mexican restaurants easily exceed the level and speed of service and I will not return to La Hacienda.
My husband and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated outside. That was great because the weather was so beautiful. The table was clean and after a few minutes someone brought chips and salsa. The chips were hard, not warm and like cardboard. The salsa was like tomatoes out of a can without any seasoning. We decided to share an entree, Poblano pepper and enchilada. Beans. Beans were tasteless, where is the pepper I ordered? Just a bunch of hamburger with some greasy cheesy stuff over it. I called the waiter over. What is this I asked? He said he didn 't know and asked what I had ordered. He couldn 't even explain the stuff I had on my plate. My husband also ordered queso. An earlier dinner has already comment on how bad it is/was. Never again. We have tried this place twice and it has not measured up. Really too bad because it has a choice location on Ft. Harrison and with all the new events and homes in the area it is a disservice to provide food such as this. The fort deserves better.
Today was my second time going to this location it didn't disappoint. My only drawback is that I was sat near a window and it was extremely breezy on an already cold day. I ordered the chimichangas camarones and they were perfectly crisp under a salad and atop bed of refried beans. The chips were fresh hot when they came out . Queso was extra but a necessity! My grandmother only had one complaint of her chimichangas- she got the shredded chicken, she said it was more so like chunked chicken than shredded. For my drink, I kept it simple today with a house marg on the rocks with salt, it was perfect! I'll definitely be back!
Weather is getting nice, so we ate on the spacious patio. Also 3 of us each had a dog with us, and they are dog friendly on the patio, so that is Awesome! Chips and salsa, #margartias, burritos and all a #yum. I originally ordered hte Texas margarita, but it was not at all what I htought I was expecting spicy but it was pretty sweet. My friend had a skinny margarita and it was tasty. The server graciously swapped mine out for one of those. We also got there at a perfect time on a Saturday afternoon right before the patio started filling up softball team parents came, so yes, they can apparently handle groups, too. #yum #dogfriendly #ReviewsByRL
I visited for the first time for lunch and everything was great! The server, Claudia, was very pleasant and helpful, and so was the host. I had the ranchero steak, which was awesome!
