Lovely casual dinner at Gregorys_russian_restaurant ! If you are looking for authentic Russian food and a family oriented atmosphere, I highly recommend this place! Food was great and the owners are very pleasant to talk to. I highly recommend to get the Cornish Hen! They also have live jazz music on the weekends. I will definitely be going back more often.
We wanted to try something different so we ventured to Castleton to Gregory's. It's in a strip mall, but still cozy. The owner served us and she was delightful. We tried both soups, both were delicious. The cabbage rolls were awesome. But the best part was dessert and coffee. We had the Napoleon, layers of puff pastry and creamy custard with whipped cream. Seriously one of the best desserts ever and big enough to split. Although it was not busy we went, I'd recommend reservations because it is small.
The food here is absolutely fantastic! It's authentic, comforting, and truly home-cooked. Based on the positive online reviews, we decided to try the cornish hen, cabbage rolls, Crimean potatoes, and creamed carrots, and everything was outstanding! There were many other dishes we were tempted to sample as well. As someone who needs to eat gluten-free, I was pleased to find a wide selection of safe options available. I didn't experience any issues with cross-contamination, so I feel confident recommending this restaurant to others. Unfortunately, we arrived too early to enjoy the live music, but I hear the owner performs around 7 PM on weeknights. We'll definitely be back!
We recently discovered this restaurant, which is surprisingly close to us. Although it looks unassuming from the outside, stepping through the door reveals a warm and inviting atmosphere. Inside, you'll find red tablecloths, hints of Russian decor, and a lovely baby grand piano in the corner. We were greeted with warmth and served efficiently. The food is authentic, with generous portions that are incredibly delicious. We enjoyed appetizers, wine, and dessert, and we're already planning to return for a full dinner with friends. Where else in Indianapolis can you dine while listening to live piano music from an award-winning international artist? We were delighted with an array of music, including pieces by Cole Porter, Gershwin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and more. A special thanks to Chef Richard, Deanna (the hostess and co-owner), and our server Pavel. We’ll definitely be back, and we can't wait to bring friends and appetites along!
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! I went with my family and was welcomed by a very friendly staff. The atmosphere is laid-back, complemented by smooth background music. If you’re a picky eater, this is the place for you. The flavors are gentle on the palate and leave you feeling warm and satisfied. My mother and I shared various dishes to sample a bit of everything. I had pelmeni with carrots in cream and Crimean potatoes. The pelmeni were delicious, with a subtle yet lingering meaty flavor. I just wished there were more sour cream on the side. The potatoes were served in a savory cream, and the carrots were cooked in a sweet sauce that was delightful without being overwhelming. Although our order took some time to arrive, the quality of the food was absolutely worth the wait and the money spent. If you’re having second thoughts, don’t hesitate. The food here reminds me of Grandma's cooking. This place is truly exceptional!
