Took my wife to Kona Jack's for her birthday dinner. It was amazing food (crab cakes, calamari, seafood gumbo, clam chowder, grouper, sushi and raspberry chocolate ice cream), tons of food (leftovers for tomorrow), cool environment, and a great server (Marty)! View all feedback.
What Brandy Brakus doesn't like about Daddy Jack's Restaurant Bar:
The food was very fair. The hostess was there forever. Maybe she's an owner) was rude and inappropriate. Parking is abundant. The place was clean. The lighting is bad. The food was average. For a local restaurant, I really wanted to support this place more. But it will be very difficult to come back. It doesn't keep me from the sibling restaurant Kona Jack's. View all feedback.
Great food served in an elegant way by motivated people who feel welcome and appreciated. GO OFTEN try all their fantastic selections.
Had lunch with Daddy Jacks, it was delicious! Not shown was a cup of gumbo and chili soup. Hubs had Blackened Cod Sandwich and I had a Patty Melt, it melted in my mouth. The grilled onions, Swiss and American cheeses were perfection. We like to come to Daddy Jacks and Kona Jacks, the restaurants are connected and you can order from any restaurant. It's like a 2 for 1!! In my opinion, Kona Jacks has the freshest fish in the city.
My dad was craving their grouper fish, so we came here based off of his previous experience. This restaurant is also connected with Kona Jack's when we first came in through the Daddy Jack's side, we were escorted to the other side because they don't take people under 21.What was super nice about this was that you can order food from both the Daddy and the Kona Jack's side and I thought that was really cool. Our server was extremely nice and made it clear to us we could order from either menu. We got the clam chowder, and it was so delicious probably the best I've ever had. It was followed by homemade bread, which was fresh out of the oven. However, I got the steak sandwich and it was very under seasoned, and it was an small portion of steak. Not to mention it was $19 for something that I could've gone somewhere else gotten better quality. My dad also said that his grouper was very under seasoned and he didn't enjoy it as he used to. The sides (fries, clam chowder, salad, bread) were all good. However, I will not be back here.
This is another nice place for a good meal, and one I’m surprised we hadn’t discovered until now. Their specialty here is seafood. They have a number of large aquariums in various dining rooms, which are nice to see and which add to the overall ambience. This place is popular on a Saturday night for dinner, but it wasn’t overly noisy despite the crowd. I ordered the fish n chips, which was good, although perhaps a little too “fishy” tasting was the only drawback. My wife said her salad was delicious and our daughter agreed her meal was very good as well. We will definitely want to return here again soon. With tip, the three meals totaled $99. This has a nice atmosphere for a pleasant dining experience.
Pleasantly surprised by this place. I work close by and the parking lot here is always busy so I figured I'd grab to go on a late night coming home. Almost no wait time for my order which was nice, but while I waited I saw the bar area was very busy with what seemed like regulars. Lots of bartenders available so didn't have to wait long for a drink and they were making easy conversation with everyone. Friendly and laid back atmosphere and great patio seating for summer time. I got a big island delight salad and sweet potato fries and neither disappointed. They put my chicken in it's own container so the sauce didn't make the salad soggy before I got home. It was so much food! Easily made two meals out of the salad. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. Sweet potato fries got a little soggy but the flavor was great and I'd get them again and eat them there for sure.
