Excellent food and atmosphere- by far the best restaurant in Finland that I had tried. None of the trendy Helsinki places can compare with the quality of...
We had an excellent dining experience at Restaurant Aanaar. They were able to make their menu 5 completely vegan. Before the five courses, we received tasty bread with olive oil. Thereafter, a unique mushroom creation followed which was a whole other dimension of tasting experience. Then, a combination of tofu, grilled carrot, carrot crisps and lingonberry lichens was offered. The main element of the dinner was a beautiful creation of roasted beetroot and onions in a refreshing berry and nut sauce. As the first element of the dessert a sorbet lollipop was served and then followed by berry sorbet. Also, the mocktails were exquisite and allowed us to get a taste of the rich variety of plants Lapland embodies. All in all, we truly enjoyed this experience and would love to come back one day.
Fantastic experience in this newly renovated restaurant/hotel. the staff is very friendly and goes too long to explain the origin of the dishes. special nutritional needs were treated with enthusiasm (vegetaric/pescatal). we took the 5-course menu with wine package and soft drinks. both were a unique experience and accompanied the different courses perfectly. the snowball desert and the lollipop earn a Michelin star for their originality. a must try. the quantity and quality of food is very good. the restaurant itself has a stand of the artable, a full view of the snowy forrest and if they are lucky to experience aurora borealis, they will dim the lighter. there is always room for improvement, so a few small points would make this experience perfect; the trout was slightly overcooked, but still very tasty. their dishes may be quite dry, but a bit more accompanying sauces would probably satisfy the southern palate. the wine card is very unique and international, so maybe a few local options and at least a few French weine would be great. overal it was a great experience and we come back
