We stayed At The Helm two nights in August. The Tradition room was large, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. We opened the windows to let in some cool air. We were looking for a hotel for 2 nights in mid August and the “At the Helm Hotel” in Ilwaco WA looked appealing. We had a couple of questions before booking online so tried to call. There was no answer and our call went to voicemail. We were unable leave a message because the voicemail was full!! They have thought of everything. Welcome cocktails, hot tub/sauna access, fresh water, great coffee, nice robes, wonderful views, breakfast in bed, on site dinner that was very good. We don't have a single complaint. Kendra provided a seamless amd comfortable check-in as well as excellent bar service. At the Helm has not missed a single detail for providing a cozy experience. We hope to come back one day.
The room is spacious and well decorated. AC is very weak but it wasn't too hot when I stayed. The service was excellent but short staffed. The complementary breakfast was perfect. Highly recommend.
I just spent 3 nights here for a fishing trip. The rooms were clean and the food was great. We were able to Moore my buddies boat in the marina right behind the hotel. We were able to utilize the hot tub and sauna as well. We will be back. I love the fan above the bed. It cooled the room off and creates white noise for us that snore. Lol. Thank you.

I had smashed potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious! The service was good. The server was friendly. We enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and rode their free bikes around the area. The breakfast was really good. We ate at The Salt Pub one night and the hamburger was awesome. The third week in August Long Beach has an international kite festival. That was really cool! I 'd stay here again.
The wife and I went in this last Saturday Evening for dinner and drinks. We had been in before around the beginning of COVID. The food was excellent then, and excellent this last visit.Soooo much flavor in the food. The drinks were spot on! Perfect mix of the liquor and the mixer.Our server was super awesome and attentive.Eating out is one of our few guilty pleasures. This place definitely ranks up there as a top 5 meals. Only beat out by some pretty important dinners we've had.Glad to see you're thriving and will be back the next time we come through town.Would love to check out the hotel some time.Food drinks: Excellent food and drinks!!
