Side note, as a... read more I'm sitting here now eating our final meal before we head back to Tx and Ca. This is the only place that I've seen that serves double yolk eggs. Side note, as an Olds guy, it was neat hearing the story about the 69 442 toy on the shelf. Food was fresh and hot, service was excellent, the place was small and the people super friendly. The Calico Cafe is not exactly for us “local” but we consider it “BEST within a reasonable drive time”! This little place has everything you would want and more than you expect. From the photos you can see the “small town diner” ambience is perfect. Of course, the best part is the food. As is required in the Mid-west, the portions are abundant. They served a lot a food for not a lot of price. The omelettes were delicious!!! And the grits were great. The biscuits and gravy were to die for!!! Almost couldn't eat it all!!! I highly recommend stopping in. You will not be disappointed!!!
