Great chilli poppers and finger foods. Service is usually on the slow side but it's a grwat spot for a midday coffee meeting or after work drinks! (Great mojitos) View all feedback.
Everyone enjoys a little bit of class and sophistication every now and then and Twankey Bar in Cape Town’s city centre is sophistication personified. The street-side bar is the perfect place to catch up over a few drinks with old friends. We went through on a Thursday evening, straight after work and loved the casual yet lively atmosphere of the place. We grabbed a table near the bar and were treated to live jazz music while we munched on a bowl of complimentary popcorn and sipped on craft beers and some of the best Mojitos in Cape Town. The bar has also become well know for their great selection of local craft beers and ciders. Brands on offer including Devils Peak, Darling Brew, Jack Black Brewing Co, Boston Breweries and Everson’s. With four beers available on-tap every day and an even wider range available by the bottle, there’s plenty to help you wet your whistle. Another must-try at Twankey Bar is a Mojito. The bar offers five different Mojito flavours including Rose Hibiscus Mojito and a Pink Grapefruit Mojito. The Mojitos are all R50 each but if you go on Thursdays you get R10 off all Mojitos and trust me, they’re worth it! <br/ <br/ As for the food, you can’t go wrong with having a light bite with your drinks. We ordered a basket of Roasted Chicken Wings with sour cream and fries and the Southern Fried Chicken Fingers with fries and were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. The wings basket came with a good amount of wings and fries to snack on and definitely kept the hunger pangs at bay. The Chicken Fingers were also a real treat and are a must-order if you’re into deep fried snacks. Once again the Chicken Fingers came in a generous portion size and are served in a basket. I loved the food at this spot as its unpretentious and uncomplicated but still super delicious!

Love the little upstairs section at Twankey Bar. Good vibe for after work drinks and snacks. Prices a little high but service is great. Yummy selection of bar nuts available in all different flavours – wasabi, spicy, etc
There are few places in Cape Town that have a serious sense of class. This little place is one of them. <br/ It has a great feel and it's backed up with friendly and accommodating service. <br/ <br/ I looked at the menu they were offering and when I didn't see anything that I felt like, I was asked what I would like to eat. I said a salad and immediately, the barman called the kitchen to see if they could help. He came back with three options and the one I went with was delicious. <br/ <br/ Business are not only built on great service, but it certainly helps. <br/ <br/ Great layout with a fantastic offering on drinks. A place deserving of doing well!
Discovered this sophisticated little gem to have a post work drink to wind down after a hard days work. The daily drinks specials are interesting
