Was hesitant at first to have evening meals at its attached restaurant bu... read more Stay in the Kyriad Hotel for 5 days while visiting the D-Day beaches and battle sites. Was hesitant at first to have evening meals at its attached restaurant but after the first evening/meal, discovered the food was excellent, the staff was very friendly and the service was quick and courteous. The chef and owner has a very good grasp of the English and was easy to communicate with when ordering meals and very accommodating for individual tastes/needs. Enjoyed the food and staff so much we ended up having our dinners at Gourmand If's the entire stay. The prices are extremely reasonable and we could find no faults with anything. The hotel is dated but the rooms are clean, neat and the staff our friendly and courteous. Price are reasonable being just outside of Caen and ideally located for an easy drive to the D-Day memorials.
