Breakfasts simple and delicious. There is good parking. Idstein is a lovely scenic town and the hotel had a charming 16th century feel. Extremely restful. Thoroughly recommended. We were sad to leave.

The park... read more Very authentic and lovely hotel with a restaurant. Rooms are comfortable but no ac and don't expect modern amenities. There is wifi but not everywhere. The parking is free and right next to the hotel (GPS Seelbacher Strasse). Restaurant is really good and great selection of wine. Breakfast is wonderfull but i found it strange to pay 1.80 euro for a coffee. Not recommended if you have younger children.

We went... read more A quick tip: Check the website beforehand to find out how to get to the hotel – Google Maps unfortunately leads you astray, and parking is very limited. We went for the Advent breakfast and were really looking forward to it. The courtyard is beautifully decorated for Christmas and looks fantastic from the outside. The buffet is rather small, but lovingly presented, and we enjoyed everything. However, a significant drawback was the service: Once the room filled up, the one or two servers were clearly insufficient. Orders like eggs or hot drinks sometimes took a very long time or were even forgotten. The bread rolls were also gone and, despite being announced they 'll be refilled in 5 minutes , weren 't replenished even after 30 minutes. The fresh waffles disappeared within seconds because there simply weren 't enough prepared for the crowd. Overall, a very nice place with good food and a great atmosphere – with better organization and more staff, it could definitely be much better.
