What Ben Ellis doesn't like about The Park:
We were not asked to be seated in the restaurant, as there were no reserved seating signs. We chose a spot for our group of nine, only to be told it was reserved without any signs indicating so. I was asked to move to another table, but then told I could stay where I was. I ordered some light snacks, only to be told I had to eat them at the bar instead of at the table. I mentioned that my pint of Peroni tasted metall... View all feedback.
I bring the family in every now and then for some good food. Waiting on staff are great and the chef is always accommodating. Tonight however, we came in on the spur of the moment and stumbled into curry. My “house manager” got herself a prawn masala and I plumbed for the lamb jalfrezi. It was one of the best hesitant menu choices I have ever made. The jalfrezi was not the hottest I have had, but it was certainly the tastiest and the lamb melted in the mouth. I’m sat here writing this thinking I’ll be back on Thursday night for sure. Kids meals were great too…. Battered fish was cooked beautifully and there were too many chunky chips for my daughter which were handy for mopping up my jalfrezi sauce haha. So lucky to have this place on our doorstep.
Been again to The Park . This time we had a Sunday roast each both beef. We had chipolata sausages to start and I had a warm chocolate brownie for pud . What a fabulous meal, the beef was overnight cooked and was pink and very tender. Everything again was spot on . Staff are very friendly and the food is very good value. Easy five stars again. It's a good local place to eat , don't have to drive either
Well not written a review lately so time I got on with it . Booked a table as it's quite local to us . Staff were very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our table. We had chipolata sausages in honey glaze for a starter which was very good. Mains were a flat iron steak which was delicious and a salt and pepper chicken as a main portion, also very good with sweet potato fries. Pud was the old favourite sticky toffee pud . Can't fault the staff or the food . As I've always said we must support our local pubs and cafés or we will loose them . Top marks for effort in here we shall be going again. 5 stars
Just had a delicious lunch, I had lamb, my husband had flat iron steak, it was perfect! Great service too!

I was asked to move to another table, but then told I could stay where I was. I ordered some light snacks, only to be told I had to eat them at the bar instead of at the table. I mentioned that my pint of Peroni tasted metallic, but was met with resistance when I complained. Eventually, the staff agreed to put up a "wait to be seated" sign. Unfortunately, my pint was not replaced and I never received my olives.
